8.1 Controls

3 Start lever: Push the start lever (3) down to start the toasting process. The indicator on the stop
button (7) lights up while it is in use.
4 Defrost button: The defrost button (4) is for toasting frozen bread. The bread is first warmed
slowly. The end results are the same level of browning for frozen bread as for fresh bread. In order
to activate the function, you need to have already started the toasting process using the start lever
(3). Once it has been activated, the indicator on the defrost button (4) lights up.
5 Warm button: The warm button (5) is used to warm bread without browning it further. In order
to activate the function, you need to have already started the toasting process using the start lever
(3). Once it has been activated, the indicator on the warm button (5) lights up.
7 Stop button: Use the stop button (7) to stop the toasting process at any time.
8 Control dial: Use the control dial (8) to set the level of browning you want for your toast, from 1
(light) to 7 (dark).

8.2 General recommendations


Please note that different kinds of bread and the thickness and moisture of the slice can affect the
level of browning. Dry, light bread browns quicker than fresh or dark bread. Therefore, use the
control dial (8) to select a low browning level for light bread and a higher one for dark bread.

Normal sliced bread can burn if the browning level is set too high. First, select a lower level of
browning.
