1 INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION AND SAFETY

The UVEX BLUETOOTH system enables wireless communication between two
helmets or one helmet and a Bluetooth enabled cellphone, MP3 player or GPS
system.

Bluetooth technology enables data and sounds to be sent and received over a
distance without the use of wires by using a microchip that transmits on a specifi c
radio frequency. Many of the latest generation cellphones feature this technology, so
they can operate with the UVEX BLUETOOTH system whatever the network used –
Virgin, O2, T-Mobile etc.
The UVEX BLUETOOTH helmet is compatible with all Bluetooth cellphones for the
basic functions of making and receiving calls.
There may however be compatibility issues for more advanced functions.
The entire UVEX BLUETOOTH system is built into the helmet. This includes the
batteries, which can be recharged without being removed from the helmet, by using
the battery charger supplied.
Uvex Bluetooth system helmets feature an easily multifunctional, waterproof
membrane key control unit with LED indicators on the left side of the helmet.
The UVEX BLUETOOTH helmet conforms to the safety requirements and other
norms laid down by Directive 1999/5/CE.

S.r.l.
Bluetooth® global trademarks and logos are the property of Bluetooth SIG Inc.
The UVEX BLUETOOTH system enables drivers to speak on the
phone or with their passenger in maximum safety, leaving the
driver's hands free.
Obeying road safety regulations and respecting correct riding
procedures take priority at all times over the use of the UVEX
BLUETOOTH system.
Do not use the phone while riding your motorcycle. Avoid distractions by using your
UVEX BLUETOOTH system.

Attention: the functions described may vary according to the type of phone or the
various software updates for each phone.
Attention: Using the system at very high volumes can distract the rider from
maintaining proper control of the vehicle, create dangerous situations or reduce
ability to hear external sounds – please adjust the volume before using the system
while riding.
Attention: in the interests of road safety do not use your cellphone while riding. To
make a call stop the vehicle in a suitable location and resume your journey after
completing the call.
Attention: do not use the system in offi cial or unoffi cial competitions, in speedway
racing or on circuits, tracks and similar facilities.
Attention: please observe all instructions and restrictions concerning cellphones
when using this device.
Water
The system is not waterproof. Avoid damp or moisture inside the
helmet.
Switch off when refuelling
Do not use the system at service stations or near infl ammable or
chemical products.
Switch off near explosive materials
Do not use the system where operations involving the use of
explosive materials are taking place.
Use correctly
Only use the system in its normal position, as described in the
product documentation.
