Chapter 2. Installing the mSATA card
Attention: Before you install the mSATA card, ensure that you refer to the setup poster
of your computer model to prevent damage to your computer. The setup poster is
available at: http://www.lenovo.com/support/mSATAdocument
Before you install the mSATA card, take the following precautions to prevent the risk of
personal injury and damage to your product:
• The mSATA card is designed for cache only. Do not use it as a bootable device.
• Before touching any electronic parts, drain the static electricity from your body. You
can do this by touching the metal frame of your computer.
• Do not remove the mSATA card from the antistatic shipping container until you are
ready to install it. When you remove it from your computer, place it in its original
container.
• The Wireless WAN card and the mSATA card cannot be installed in your computer
at the same time. So if a wireless WAN card is installed in the computer, uninstall it
before installing the mSATA card. After removing the Wireless WAN card, ensure that
you wrap the antenna contacts with insulating tapes to avoid short circuit, and then
put it at a proper place.
To install the mSATA card, refer to the setup poster of your computer model. Go to
http://www.lenovo.com/support/mSATAdocument and follow the instructions on the
screen.

input/output system (BIOS) code, utility programs, device drivers, and other software
