Never work with materials containing asbestos.
Only use grinding tools for which the allowable
speed is at least as high as the machine's idle
running speed.
Don't cut off work pieces that are thicker than
the maximum cut depth of the cut-off wheel.
Don't use any damaged, off-centred, or vibra-
ting grinding tools.
Make a trial run for at least 30 seconds with no
load.
Observe the direction of rotation. Always hold
the device so that sparks or dust flies away from
your body.
Sparks will fly when grinding metals. Make sure
that no one or no flammable materials are in
the path of the flying sparks.
Never grab onto a rotating grinding tool.
Always switch the device off before you put it
down, and let it run until it stops.
7. Installing protective cover and grin-
ding wheels
Pull the power plug.
Loosen, or alternatively tighten the protective
cover (1) with a Phillips screwdriver.
When working with grinding and cutting
wheels, the protective cover must always be
mounted.
Only when working with sand paper wheels or
polishing heads that are mounted on suitable
disc wheels (specialised dealer, do-it-yourself
store), may the protective cover be removed.
press in the spindle locking button (5) on the
upper side of the device or lock the spindle with
a flat wrench.
Loosen the clamping nut with the cam wrench
(6) that is provided and change the grinding or
cutting wheel. (4)
Warning: Put the clamping nut on correctly. For
a grinding wheel, the flange of the clamping nut
must point in the direction of the wheel. For a
cutting wheel, the flange must point away from
the wheel. (Figure 1)

Clamp down the workpiece, if it isn't secured by

Roughing
Move the running grinding wheel at a 30º to
40º blade angle back and forth across the work-
piece (sketch) using moderate pressure.
Always use the auxiliary handle. It can be
attached in 2 positions.
Abrasive Cutting
Place the running cutting wheel carefully on the
workpiece and don't tilt or oscillating it.
Don't tilt the cutting wheel to brake it when it is
shutting down (sketch).
Warning: Never use a grinding wheel for cutting..

9. Service and Maintenance

Before performing any work on the equipment,
pull the power plug.
Use a damp cloth to clean the plastic elements.
Do not use any cleansers, solvents, or pointed
objects.
Regularly clean any dust that is stuck to the ven-
tilation openings and moving parts with a soft
brush or a paint brush.
