17. Never wrap the power cord around the
appliance.
18. Use the electric kettle only indoors.
19. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do
not use it to heat milk or other liquids, since
they will boil over when heated.
20. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in
the electric kettle.
21. Make sure that the lid of the appliance
is always completely closed, to prevent
injuries from hot splashing water.
22. Do not open the lid as long as the water
is boiling, to prevent injuries from hot
splashing water.
23. Never fill the appliance with more than
1.7 liters of water, to prevent the water from
boiling over.
24. Never switch on the appliance if there is no
water in the kettle.
25. Make sure that all users, especially child-
ren, are aware of the danger of injury from
emerging steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
26. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in
operation, to prevent burns from splashing
water.
27. The electric kettle features boil dry protec-
tion, which means the appliance shuts
off automatically if the heating element
the manufacturer does not assume any warranty in case of improper or incorrect use or after repair by
unauthorized third parties.

1. Plug the cord of the base into the mains.
2. Remove the kettle from the base. Open the
lid by pressing the black knob in the middle
of the lid.
3. Fill the kettle with water (minimum
0.5 litres, mark MIN, maximum 1.7 litres,
mark MAX). For the first use fill up to the
mark MAX.

do not overfill. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling
water may be ejected.
5. Place the kettle level on the base in order
to establish the contact with the power con-
nection.
6. Close the lid with light pressure until it
clicks into place. The locking avoids an
accidental opening of the lid when pouring
out water.
7. Switch on the kettle by pressing the key
downwards and bring the water to boil. The
base with be lighted. This lighted base ser-
ves as operation control lamp.

becomes too hot. Allow the appliance
to cool about 15 minutes. Then fill the
electric kettle with cold water. The boil dry
protection is deactivated and the appliance
is ready for operation again.
28. Do not use the appliance with accessories
of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent
damage.
29. Unplug the appliance from the power supply
after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave
the appliance unattended when it is plugged
in to the power supply.
30. Check the appliance, the plug and the
power cord regularly for wear or damage. In
case of damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance or the base
for inspection and repair to our after sales
service (for address, see warranty terms).
Unauthorized repairs can result in serious
risks to the user and void the warranty.
31. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.

is boiling. If the kettle is overfilled,
boiling water can splash out.
8. Pour away water from first boiling.
9. The kettle is automatically switched off
when the water boils and the base lighting =
control lamp turns out. However, boiling can
be stopped by operating the ON/OFF switch
or by lifting the kettle from the base.

the automatic shutoff only works, if the lid is
correctly closed.
11. The kettle is switched off automatically as
soon as the kettle is lifted from the base.
12. After an adequate cooling-off period the
water can once again be brought to boil by
pressing ON the switch.
13. The kettle is fitted with a dry-operation shut-
off which switches off the heating element
when it becomes too hot, for instance when
the kettle has boiled dry. Allow the kettle
to cool down. Then fill the kettle with cold
water. This will reset the shutoff so that the
kettle can be used again.
