INSPECTION AND HANDLING
The Cenelec and ATEX Batteries are Nickel
Cadmium Batteries built to provide a high
level of Intrinsic Safety. As part of the routine
maintenance of Batteries a visual inspection
should be carried out. This inspection
should pay particular attention to the
Housing integrity, the Electrical Contacts
and the area around the Battery Vent. Any
physical damage or signs of leakage should
be noted and the Battery should be taken
out of use for further inspection or disposal.
When handling batteries care should be
exercised, Material Safety Data Sheets are
available on request. Also available is a
Short Form Data Sheet detailing General,
Mechanical and Electrical Specifications for
these Batteries.
