INSTRUCTIONS
Effects of Self Discharge
Due to the effects of Self Discharge a
Battery that has been in prolonged transit or
storage could reach a deep discharge
condition that may result in problems during
charging. A typical indication of deep
discharge is early termination of a charge
cycle, namely the Charger will attempt to
rapid charge the battery (Red Led
indication) but within a short period of time
will indicate Battery is ready (Green Led
indication). To overcome this, refer to the
procedure described in the above section
titled First Charge and Conditioning Charge.
Storage Recommendations
Normal Nickel Cadmium rechargeable
Batteries can be safely stored at 25 deg C in
dry conditions for upwards of three (3) years
without any additional procedures. Nickel
Cadmium Batteries can be stored in a fully
charged state without any detrimental
effects. The Cenelec and ATEX Batteries
however require periodic Maintenance
Charges to ensure deep discharge
conditions are not reached.
