techniques and uses are described.
The warning symbols inform you of some potential dangers related to the use of
your equipment, but it is impossible to describe them all. Check Petzl.com for

1. Field of application
This equipment is personal protective equipment (PPE) used to protect against
sliding.
Crampons for competitive ice climbing and dry tooling.
These crampons are EN 893 certified only with ASOLO Comp XT boots. Without
the boot, this crampon is not PPE.
This product must not be pushed beyond its limits, nor be used for any purpose
other than that for which it is designed.
Responsibility

Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently dangerous.
You are responsible for your own actions, decisions and safety.
Before using this equipment, you must:
- Read and understand all Instructions for Use.
- Get specific training in its proper use.
- Become acquainted with its capabilities and limitations.

This product must only be used by competent and responsible persons, or those
placed under the direct and visual control of a competent and responsible person.
You are responsible for your actions, your decisions and your safety and you

do not use this equipment.

3. Inspection, points to verify
Petzl recommends a detailed inspection at least once every 12 months. Follow the
procedures described at Petzl.com. Record the results on your PPE inspection
form.
Before each use
Before each use, check the general condition of your crampons. Verify there are no
cracks, deformation, or corrosion, especially on the frame and the front point.
Check the sharpness of the front point.
Make sure the mounting nuts are tight on the two parts of the frame, and on the
front point.
Make sure the crampon is securely attached to the boot, by checking that the front
and rear frames do not move.

4. Adjusting the front point and the front/rear
parts

For this operation, use the provided key to tighten or loosen the front point
mounting nut.

5. Supplementary crampon information
This product meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on personal
protective equipment. The EU declaration of conformity is available at Petzl.com.
When to retire your equipment:
WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one
use, depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage
(harsh environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures,
chemicals...).
A product must be retired when:
- It has been subjected to a major fall or load.
- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.
- You do not know its full usage history.
- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment...
Destroy these products to prevent further use.

Transport your crampons in a bag to protect the points and to avoid damaging your
other equipment.
G. Maintenance
After each use, clean and dry your crampons. Sharpen the points by filing the edge
of the tooth, never the flat side (except for the front point).
H. Modifications/repairs (prohibited outside of Petzl facilities, except replacement
parts).

3. Contrôle, points à vérifier
Petzl conseille une vérification approfondie au minimum tous les 12 mois.
Respectez les modes opératoires décrits sur le site Petzl.com. Enregistrez les
résultats sur la fiche de vie de votre EPI.
Avant toute utilisation
Avant chaque sortie, contrôlez l'état général de vos crampons. Vérifiez l'absence de
fissures, déformations, corrosion notamment sur le corps et la pointe avant.
Contrôlez l'affûtage de la pointe avant.
Vérifiez le bon serrage des écrous de fixation des deux parties du corps et de la
pointe avant.
Veillez à ce que le crampon soit bien fixé à la chaussure, en contrôlant que les corps
avant et arrière ne bougent pas.

4. Réglage pointe avant et partie avant/arrière
Pointe avant
Pour cette opération, utilisez la clé fournie comme outil de vissage/dévissage de
l'écrou de fixation pointe avant.
Veillez à toujours bien visser l'écrou de fixation de la pointe avant.
Partie avant/arrière
Veillez à toujours bien visser les écrous de fixation.
5. Informations complémentaires crampons
Ce produit est conforme au règlement (UE) 2016/425 relatif aux équipements de
protection individuelle. La déclaration de conformité UE est disponible sur Petzl.

Mise au rebut :
ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un produit
après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d'utilisation, environnements d'utilisation
: milieux agressifs, milieux marins, arêtes coupantes, températures extrêmes,
produits chimiques...).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :
- Il a subi une chute ou un effort important.
- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n'est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute
sur sa fiabilité.
- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d'utilisation.
- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d'autres équipements...).
Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

Transportez vos crampons dans un sac pour protéger la pointe et éviter de perforer
votre matériel.
G. Entretien
Après chaque utilisation, nettoyez et séchez vos crampons. Affûtez les pointes en
aiguisant le chant de la dent, jamais le plat (sauf pour la pointe avant).
H. Modifications/réparations (interdites hors des ateliers Petzl, sauf pièces de
rechange).

1. Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA) zum Schutz gegen Ausrutschen bzw.
Ausgleiten.
Steigeisen zum Wettkampfklettern im Eis und Drytooling Die Steigeisen sind nur mit
den Schuhen ASOLO Comp XT nach EN 893 zertifiziert. Ohne diesen Schuh ist das
Steigeisen keine PSA.
Dieses Produkt darf nicht über seine Grenzen hinaus belastet werden. Es darf
ausschließlich zu dem Zweck verwendet werden, für den es entworfen wurde.

Aktivitäten, bei denen diese Ausrüstung zum Einsatz kommt, sind
naturgemäß gefährlich.
Für Ihre Handlungen, Entscheidungen und für Ihre Sicherheit sind Sie selbst

3. Überprüfung, zu kontrollierende Punkte
Petzl empfiehlt eine gründliche Überprüfung mindestens alle 12 Monate. Bitte
beachten Sie die auf Petzl.com beschriebenen Vorgehensweisen. Tragen Sie die
Ergebnisse in den Prüfbericht Ihrer PSA ein.
Vor jedem Einsatz
Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Tour den allgemeinen Zustand Ihrer Steigeisen.
Überprüfen Sie insbesondere den Steigeisenkörper und die Frontalzacke auf Risse,
Deformierungen und Korrosionserscheinungen.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Frontalzacke scharf geschliffen ist.
Überprüfen Sie, ob die Befestigungsmuttern von Vorderteil, Fersenteil und
Frontalzacke fest angezogen sind.
Achten Sie darauf, dass das Steigeisen fest am Schuh sitzt und dass sich Vorder-
und Fersenteil nicht bewegen.
Ausführliche Hinweise bezüglich der bei jeder PSA zu kontrollierenden Punkte finden

Sollten irgendwelche Zweifel hinsichtlich des Zustands eines Produkts bestehen,
senden Sie es zur Überprüfung an Petzl.
4. Einstellen von Frontalzacke und Vorder-/
Fersenteil
Frontalzacke
Benutzen Sie zum Festschrauben/Lösen der Befestigungsmutter der Frontalzacke
den mitgelieferten Schlüssel.
Achten Sie darauf, die Befestigungsmutter der Frontalzacke fest anzuziehen.
Vorder-/Fersenteil
Denken Sie daran, die Befestigungsmuttern immer fest anzuziehen.
5. Zusätzliche Informationen zu den Steigeisen
Das Produkt entspricht der PSA-Verordnung (EU) 2016/425. Die EU-
Konformitätserklärung ist auf Petzl.com verfügbar.
Aussondern von Ausrüstung:
ACHTUNG, außergewöhnliche Umstände können die Aussonderung eines Produkts
nach einer einmaligen Anwendung erforderlich machen (Art und Intensität der
Benutzung, Anwendungsbereich: aggressive Umgebungen, Meeresklima, scharfe
Kanten, extreme Temperaturen, Chemikalien usw.).
In folgenden Fällen muss ein Produkt ausgesondert werden:
- Nach einem schweren Sturz (oder Belastung)
- Das Überprüfungsergebnis ist nicht zufriedenstellend, das Produkt fällt bei der
Überprüfung durch Sie bezweifeln seine Zuverlässigkeit.
- die vollständige Gebrauchsgeschichte ist nicht bekannt
- das Produkt ist veraltet (Änderung der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen, der
Normen und der technischen Vorschriften, Inkompatibilität mit anderen
Ausrüstungsgegenständen usw.)
Zerstören und entsorgen Sie diese Produkte, um ihren weiteren Gebrauch zu
verhindern.

Transportieren Sie die Steigeisen in einer Tasche, um die Zacke zu schützen und zu
verhindern, dass andere Ausrüstungsgegenstände beschädigt werden.
G. Pflege
Reinigen und trocknen Sie Ihre Steigeisen nach jedem Gebrauch. Schärfen Sie die
Zacken, indem Sie die Kante aber nicht die Fläche der Zacken (ausgenommen bei
der Frontalzacke) schleifen.
H. Änderungen/Reparaturen (außerhalb der Petzl Betriebsstätten nicht zulässig,
ausgenommen Ersatzteile)
