3. INSTALLATION

3.1. Fixing

The pump should be screwed to a solid base, using
the holes on the base in order to avoid undesirable
noise and vibration.

3.2. Suction pipe assembly

This pump should always be fitted with a retention
valve at the base of the suction.
The suction pipe, if longer than 7 meters, must be
of the same or greater diameter than the pump inlet
and installed in an upward inclination to prevent
trapped air pockets forming.
If the pump is required to perform a suction lift, to
avoid unnecessary losses of head on the discharge
side, the pump should be installed as close as
possible to the water.
The end of the suction pipe must always remain at
least 30cm below the water level.

3.3. Discharge pipe assembly

It is recommended to use pipes with a diameter
equal or greater than the pump outlet. This will
reduce loss of head caused by friction in longer
pipe runs.
Pipework must be supported and their weight must
not rest on the pump. Make sure you do not
install a retention valve at the induction. The
system should not leak water.

3.4. Electrical connection

The electrical installation must have a multi-
pole isolator with minimum 3 mm contact
openings, The protection of the system will
be based on
(Δfn = 30 mA)
The electrical connection is made by connecting the
pump‟s socket directly
household mains socket, in accordance with the
regulations in force in each country.
Single-phase motors incorporate thermal
protection.
Follow instructions given on fig.1 for correct
electrical connection.

3.5. Pre-start checks

Ensure the voltage and frequency of the
supply corresponds to the values indicated
on the electrical data label.
Before starting up the pump, ensure that it is
installed correctly, by following the installation
manual.
Check that the pump is fully primed and there are
no leaks at the joints.
Ensure that the pump shaft is rotating freely.
Fill the pump body with water through the self-
priming plug opening. If a foot valve has been
installed, also fill the suction pipe. Check all joints
and connections for leaks.

4. START-UP

4.1. Start-up and operation

Open all of the shut-off valves, both for suction and
delivery.
Connect the power supply. The voltage indicator
will light up (LINE).
The unit starts automatically. While the pump is
operating, the performance indicator will light up
(RUN).
During operation, a water outlet valve should be
opened to purge any air in the system. Once this
has been purged, the valve should be closed and
the unit will stop 10 seconds later. Only the voltage
indicator will be lit (LINE).
If the pump is not properly primed when it is started
up, or it does not have water to run, the pump will
stop after 10 seconds and the (FAULT) led will light
up. To complete the pump priming, press the (+)
and (-) keys at the same time, which will restart the
circuit and 10 second timer.
With water consumption over 2l/min the pump
always runs. However, below this level, the RUN
indicator flashes on the control to warn that we are
below the minimum flow, and after 10 seconds the
pump stops.
A few moments before the circuit stops the pump,
the electronic control gradually increases the motor
revolutions to increase the reference pressure
slightly and to stay paused for longer.
If the motor does not work or does not extract
water, you are advised to find the anomaly from the
list of most common failures and the possible
solutions provided on the following pages.

4.2. Adjusting the reference pressure

To increase or reduce the reference pressure, the
pump should be operating and the RUN led lit up
permanently. By pressing either of the two (+) or (-)
control buttons we will vary the reference pressure.
The start-up pressure is adjusted to 0.5 bars below
the reference pressure.
