FLUES AND CHIMNEY COWLS
The dimensioning of the chimney should be carried out
in accordance with EN 13384-1.
Follow the instructions given in the data sheet regarding
the value of the chimney draw.
The flue for the discharge of fumes must be created in
compliance with the standards EN 10683, EN 1856-
1-2, EN 1857, EN 1443, EN 13384-1-3, EN 12391-1,
EN15287-1 both with regard to the dimensions and to
the materials used for its construction.
The minimum temperature class of the smoke system
must be at least T400.
A PERFECT DRAW is given above all by a chimney
free from obstacles such as bottlenecks, horizontal
paths, edges; any axis movements must have an
inclined path with a maximum angle of 45° with
respect to the vertical, even better if only 30°. These
displacements must be carried out preferably in
proximity of the chimney pot.
The FLUE between the firebox and the smoke duct
must have the same cross-section as the fume outlet
of the appliance. The flue must be sealed and the
use of flexible extendible metal pipes is prohibited.
To connect the appliance to the chimney, it is
possible to make at most 3 changes of direction
not greater than 90°, with the length of the flue no
greater than 2 meters in horizontal projection and a
maximum of 3 meters in total. Make sure that the
first vertical section is at least 50 cm before making
a change of direction.
The CHIMNEY COWLmust be of the ANTI-WIND
type with an internal section equivalent to that of the
flue and a fume outlet section at least DOUBLE the
internal one of the flue.
Reflux zone: The outlet height must be outside the
reflux zone calculated according to figure 5.3.1 and
to the related table. Nearer the ridge consider the
lesser of the two.
In the presence of obstacles, on a flat roof, for
positioning of the chimney cowl the distances and
the dimensions according to figure 5.3.2 and in the
relative table must be respected.
If the flue that is to be used for the installation was
previously connected to other stoves or fireplaces, it
is necessary to perform thorough cleaning to prevent
abnormal operations and to avoid the risk of fire of
unburnt deposits on the inner walls of the flue.
The appliance must not be used in a shared flue.
