General instructions
Please note: At first, secure the seat with the vehicle's 3-point belt as described in the user manual. Then secure your child with the 5-point safety belt integrated in the
seat.
Suitable for a body weight of up to 22 kg / 48.5 lb:
RECARO Expert plus Reha has successfully passed an overload test at Dekra (Dresden) on the basis of the requirements of ECE R 44/04. Thus, the RECARO Expert plus
Reha is approved for the use as "restraint system for special needs ("S")".
Purpose / indication
The children car seat RECARO Expert plus Reha is designed for the transport of children with special needs in vehicles. The clinical pictures are amongst others:
• cerebral palsy
• hypotony syndrome of unspecific genesis
• muscular dystrophy
• different syndrome diseases
The car seat is characterized by its shell design and pad system, which provide for additional seating safety, stabilization of head and pelvis, and support / control of the
feet.
Thus, the RECARO Expert plus Reha meets the needs of disabled children very well.
Application risks / contraindications
No application risks / contraindications are known.
Securing RECARO Expert plus Reha in vehicle
Unclosing the seat for securing with vehicle's 3-point belt
1. Release the tension of the 5-point belt by pressing the central adjuster and pulling the belt out backwards.
2. For reasons of keeping the headrest in place the slots for the belt insertion are very small. Thus, the shoulder pads of the 5-point belt must be guided backwards
carefully through these slots.
3. Open the back of the seat by pressing the locking device at the top of the back.
4. Now guide the 3-point belt through the back as described in the user manual.
5. Make sure the belt fits tight and connects the seat with the vehicle securely.
6. Now close the back of the seat again until it locks in place audibly.
7. Even after locking, make sure that the back cannot be opened anymore.
5-point safety belt
Please note:
The 5-point safety belt serves for securing and positioning the child in the car seat. The seat must always be secured with the vehicle's 3-point belt first as described in
the user manual.
The 5-point safety belt is already fitted in the seat. For the rehab version it is equipped with an additional crotch pad. For more information on the use of belts please
consult the RECARO user manual provided with the seat.
Adjusting the belt length: Slightly lift the lateral seat cover and release the fabric flap by opening the Velcro. Now you can see the central belt adjuster in the seat shell. To
change the belt length, press the lever down and adjust the belt by either pulling the strap coming out of the front of the seat (shortening) or by pulling out both shoulder
belts (lengthening).
Belt buckle: Press the red dent of the buckle to open. Separate the two upper belt fasteners. To close the belt, bring the two upper belt fasteners together, insert them into
the buckle from above and push together until they lock in place with an audible „Click".
The cover for the crotch pad (zipper) can be removed and washed in the machine at up to 30° C / 86° F. Please undo the zip on the bottom crotch pad as well to remove
the cover
