3.2 Hoeing and loosening the ground
To begin working:
– adjust the strut to the desired height;
–    m ove the auxiliary wheel to the high position;
–    p ress the handle bar slightly to raise the milling cutters
from the ground;
–    p ress  the  safety  lever  (1)  and  pull  the  milling  cutter
engagement lever (2).
–    l ower the cutters so they can penetrate the ground and
move the machine forward.
Suggestions for a job well done
• Do not use the machine on wet ground as the clods
could be difficult to break up.
•    W ith  hard  and  dry  ground,  the  depth  required  should
be reached through two crossed passages, not carried
out too deeply.
3.3 When work is finished
When work is finished:
–    r elease the engagement lever (2);
– move the throttle lever to «STOP»;
–    m ove the auxiliary wheel to the lowered position.
Disconnect the spark plug cap (1) before storing the ma-
chine or doing any other jobs on it.

4. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT - Routine and accurate maintenance is
essential in maintaining original machine safety and
performance levels.
Store the machine in a dry place.
1)    W ear sturdy work gloves before cleaning, maintaining
or adjusting the machine.
2)    A ccurately  wash  the  machine  with  water  after  each
use; remove debris and mud accumulated on the
milling cutters and under the guard to prevent it drying
and making the next removal difficult.
3)    P aint on the inner guard parts may come off over time
due to the abrasive action of clods removed; if this
happens, promptly touch-up paint with rust-proof paint
to prevent rusting that could corrode the metal.
4)    I f accessing the lower part is necessary, only tilt the
machine on the side indicated in the engine manual,
following the relevant instructions.
5)    D o not drip petrol onto the plastic parts of the engine or
the machine to prevent damaging them and remove all
traces of spilt petrol immediately. The warranty does
not cover damage to plastic parts caused by petrol.

4.1 Milling cutter replacement
The milling cutters do not need their cutting edges shar-
pened.
To replace a milling cutter:
–    r emove the cap (1);
–    r elease the cotter pin (2), extract the pin (3) and remove
the external (4) and internal (5) milling cutters.
WARNING - The cutting parts of the milling cutter
CANNOT be disassembled from their supporting
plate. You must ALWAYS replace the entire plate
complete with cutting parts. Using a milling cutter
with one or more broken or missing cutters can be
dangerous and bad for machine safety and reliabi-
lity.
Original milling cutters with the following code must be
used on this machine:
118801761/0  (external milling cutter)
118801760/0  (internal milling cutter)
Reassemble the milling cutters (4) and (5) and restore the
relative pin (3), cotter pin (2) and cap (1).
4.2 Adjusting transmission
If you have any problems when starting the milling cutter
engagement lever, with engagement too violent or mil-
ling cutters that tend to slow down when penetrating the
ground, the engagement cable needs adjustment.
This  operation  must  be  done  by  the  Customer  Service
Centre nearest to you or by your Dealer.

5. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Environmental protection should be a priority of conside-
rable importance when using the machine, for the benefit
of both social coexistence and the environment in which
we live.
–    T ry  not  to  cause  any  disturbance  to  the  surrounding
area.
–    S crupulously  comply  with  local  regulations  for  the  di-
sposal of packaging, deteriorated parts or any elements
with a strong environmental impact; this waste must not
be disposed of as normal waste, it must be separated
and  taken  to  specified  waste  disposal  centres  where
the material will be recycled.
– When decommissioning, do not pollute the environ-
ment with the machine, hand it over to a disposal cen-
tre, in accordance with the local regulations in force.
For  any  doubts  or  problems,  please  do  not  hesitate  to
contact  your  nearest  Customer  Service  Centre  or  Your
Dealer.
