12. Remove the five screws that secure the system board, and then carefully lift the system board out of
the chassis.
Note: Carefully handle the system board by its edges.

13. Remove the microprocessor from the failing system board, and then install it onto the new system
board. See "Replacing the microprocessor" on page 117.
14. To install the new system board, align the five screw holes in the system board with the corresponding
holes in the chassis. Then, install the five screws to secure the system board to the chassis.
15. Route all the cables that you disconnected from the system board, and then connect the cables to the
system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 34.
16. Install the Wi-Fi card. See "Replacing the Wi-Fi card" on page 126.
17. Install the memory modules. See "Replacing a memory module" on page 123.
18. Install the M.2 storage drive. See "Replacing the M.2 storage drive" on page 122.
19. Install the storage drive bracket. See "Replacing the 2.5-inch storage drive" on page 120.
20. Install the heat sink. See "Replacing the heat sink" on page 116.
21. Install the internal speaker holder. See "Replacing the internal speaker holder" on page 114.
22. Install the internal speaker. See "Replacing the internal speaker" on page 112.
23. Install the system fan. See "Replacing the system fan" on page 110.
24. Connect the external cables and the power cord to the computer.
The failing system board must be returned with a microprocessor socket cover to protect the pins during
shipping and handling.
