To replace a memory module, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 108.
3. Remove the storage drive bracket. See "Replacing the 2.5-inch storage drive" on page 120.
4. Locate the memory module you want to replace. The memory modules are installed in the memory slots
on the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 34.
5. Open the retaining clips and gently pull the memory module out of the memory slot.

6. Insert the notched end
firmly and pivot the memory module until it snaps into place. Make sure that the memory module is
secured in the slot and does not move easily.

7. Install the storage drive bracket. See "Replacing the 2.5-inch storage drive" on page 120.
