Important: Do not use the appliance with a wall outlet and batteries at the same time. Remove
batteries before connecting the appliance to mains power and remove the power adapter (15) if
the appliance is to be powered by batteries.
The appliance is ready for operation.
note: The appliance draws a small amount of power even if it is not turned on. If you do not
use the appliance for a longer period of time, disconnect the power adapter (15) or remove all
batteries.

BASIC funCTIOnS

4.1
Switching the appliance on / off and standby
Turning the appliance on: Keep the Standby/Mode (1) button. The display (3) lights up and
briefly shows "Welcome to Digital Radio".
Switch the appliance to standby: Keep the Standby/Mode (1) button for one second pressed.
In the standby mode the date and the time are displayed.
Turning off the appliance: Keep the Standby/Mode (1) button in the standby mode for one
second pressed, until "Power off" on the display (3) is shown. If you release the Standby/
Mode (1) button, the display (3) gets dark.
Completely switch off the appliance: Disconnect the power adapter (15) from the wall outlet or
remove the batteries. Do this if you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time.
4.2
Setting volume level
Turn the Select/-Volume+ (4) control in power-on mode, to decrease or increase the volume level.
A bar diagram shows the volume level set.
To mute the sound, turn Select/-Volume+ (4) counter-clockwise until the bar disappears.
4.3
Setting time / date manually
The clock is set and displayed automatically in DAB+ mode, if the service is available.
If you need to set time / date manually, follow the steps below:
Press and hold the Menu/Info (5) button in FM mode.
When the menu item "Scan Setting" (FM) is displayed on the display (3), press either the Prev. (8)
button, or next (6) to cycle through the menu options until you see the menu option "System".
Press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to select.
When the menu item "Time" is shown, press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button.
In the "Time" menu, there are several options: "Set Time/Date", "Auto update", "Set 12/24 hour"
and "Set date format".
Use the Prev. (8) button or the next (6) button to select "Set 12/24 hour format". Then press the
Select/-Volume+ (4) button to confirm.
Setting the time/date: Use the Prev. (8) button or the next (6) button to select "Set Time/Date".
Then press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to confirm. When the hours are activated, the hour
display flashes. Press the Prev. (8) button or the next (6) button to enter the correct hours, and
then press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to confirm. Repeat the same procedure for setting the
minutes.
Confirm again with the Select/-Volume+ (4) button. The setting process for the date corresponds
exactly to the setting of the time. Confirm the final settings with the Select/-Volume+ (4) button.
The display (3) shows "Time Saved".
Automatic setting: Use the Prev. (8) button or the next (6) button to select "Auto update". Then
press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to confirm. Press either the Prev. (8) button or the next (6)
button to cycle through the various menu options for the automatic setting of time and date.
These include "Update from any", "Update from DAB", "Update from FM" and "No update". Use
the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to save the settings.
Setting the date format: Use the Prev. (8) button or the next (6) button to select "Set data
format". Then press the Select/-Volume+ (4) button to confirm. Press either the Prev. (8) button
or the next (6) button to change cyclically between "DD-MM-YYYY" or "MM-DD-YYYY. Use the
Select/-Volume+ (4) button to save the settings.
note: When the power is turned off (not into standby mode), the settings are lost.
