Lifting with ropes:
If the awning must be raised to a higher area with the
help of ropes, then the awning
• should be removed from the packing,
• connected with the ropes in such a way that the
ropes cannot slip
• must be pulled up evenly in a horizontal position.
Wall brackets:
Before starting the assembly the following should be
checked,
• whether the wall brackets supplied match the
scope of delivery in type and number,
• and if the specifications about the installation
surface made at the time of ordering the product
actually match the existing installation surface.
If any deviations are identified here which may affect
the safety, then the product should not be installed.
Fixing materials:
The awning meets the requirements of the wind
resistance class specified in the technical data.
In the assembled condition it satisfied these require-
ment only, if
• the awning is assembled with the type and num-
ber of wall brackets specified in these operating
instructions,
• the awning is installed whilst taking the specified
plug extraction force into consideration
• and the bolt anchors supplied in the scope of
delivery are used for the installation.
Climbing aids:
• Aids should not be leaned against the awning or
fixed. They must have a firm position and offer
sufficient support. Use only the climbing aids
that have sufficiently high load-bearing capacity.
Fall protection:
• When working at great heights there is a risk of
falling. Appropriate protection measures should
be used.
Uncontrolled operation:
• When working in the operating range of the
awning, the automatic control should be deacti-
vated. There is a risk of crushing and falling.
• In addition, attention should be paid to ensure
that the system cannot be accidentally manually
operated. To do this, interrupt the power supply,
e. g. deactivate fuses or separate the plug coup-
ling at the motor.
• For manual operation, the operating crank must
be removed and kept safely.

Test run:
• When the awning is extended for the first time
there should not be anyone in the area or under
the awning. The fixing materials and wall bra-
ckets should be subjected to a visual inspection
after extending the awning for first time.
• For test runs, never use automatic controls or
switches which mean that the awning is not
within the sight of the operator (risk of uninten-
ded start-up). The use of a test cable to the
motor connection is recommended.
Usage when there is wind:
If the awning is assembled as per the regulations, it
satisfies the requirements of the wind resistance
class as specified in the technical data. The awning
should be used only for wind speeds declared in the
wind resistance class.
Wind resistance class 0:
The wind resistance class 0 conforms (in accordance
with DIN EN 13561) either to not required or not
measured performance or a product that does not
satisfy the requirement of the class 1. The awning
should not be used (extended) when there is wind.
Wind resistance class 1:
The awning can be extended maximum up to of wind
strength 4.
Definition according to Beaufort: Moderate breeze,
moderate wind.
Wind moves twigs and thinner branches, lifts dust
and loose paper.
Speed 20-27 km/h = 5.5-7.4 m/s.
Wind resistance class 2:
The awning can be extended maximum up to of wind
strength 5.
Definition according to Beaufort: Fresh breeze, fresh
wind.
Small broad-leafed trees begin to sway.
White crests form on the seas.
Speed 28-37 km/h = 7.5-10.4 m/s
Usage when there is rain:
If the slope of the awning is less than 35 % = 19°,
measured horizontally, then the awning should not
be extended in the rain. There is hazard of water
accumulating in the cloth of the awning, through
which the awning can be damaged or fall down.
Usage when there is snow or ice:
• The awning should not be extended when there
is a risk of snow or frost. There is a risk that the
awning may be damaged or fall.
