Reliable functioning of the equipment is only ensured with
certified components.
Important note
The products described here were developed to assume safety-related func-
tions within a system or machine. A complete safety-related system usually
includes sensors, evaluation units, signaling devices and concepts for ensur-
ing safe switch-off. The manufacturer of the system or machine is responsible
for ensuring the correct overall functioning. Siemens AG, its branch offices
and associated companies (hereinafter "Siemens") cannot guarantee all prop-
erties of a system or machine not designed by Siemens. Siemens can also
not assume liability for recommendations given or implied by the following
description. No new guarantee/warranty or liability claims in excess of the
general terms and conditions of Siemens can be deduced from the following
description.

Cable Entries
Cable entries must be designed and installed so that they do not interfere with
the degree of protection acc. to DIN VDE 0470 and IEC 60529. Cable entries
that are not used must be closed using the supplied screw plugs. The
required torque is 1.1 Nm, Refer to Fig. V for screw depth..
Changeover mechanism for 3SE.120-/230
Order Nos. 3SY3110 and 3SY3027. Mount intermediate plate (b) on the posi-
tion switch (a). Install base plate (c) at the mounting location. Put the position
switch into place and lock it by means of the interlocking lever (d).
Other possible modes of operation
All of the drives can be replaced by other drive concepts.
All of the drives can be offset by 4 x 90 °, so that (depending on the form of
enclosure) actuation can be carried out from four sides.
For 3SE.1.0 / .303 / .404-.GW, UW, WW, VW and 3SE.230-.GW, U, W, V:
The roller crank or rod actuator can be offset on the drive shaft by 10 ° to 10 °
and turned around by 180 ° (screw must be loosened).
For 3SE.1..-J / .3..-J / .4..-J:
The roller crank can be offset on the drive shaft by 90 ° to 90 °, but cannot be
turned around by 180 °.
For 3SE.1..-G / .3..-G / .4..-G:
The roller crank can be continuously offset on the drive shaft and turned
around by 180 °.
Securing against position change (fixing)
If used as a safety position switch, positive fixing is required. If fixed by
means of oblong holes, locating pins or fixing pads must additionally be used.
Protection against actuation and overriding
Position switches should be arranged so that they will not be damaged during
actuation and overriding. They must therefore not be used as a mechanical
stop. The height of the skate or the cam should be less than the entire travel
in the switch to avoid mechanical loading of the switch or its fixing arrange-
ment.
Maintenance
Replacing the switching insert
Remove the screws of the enclosure cover, lift the switching insert from the
upper edge with a screwdriver. Push the new insert onto the two spigots in the
enclosure until it reaches its stop position.
For 3SE.1.. / .3.. / .4..:
Fasten screws of the housing cover with 1.0 to 1.2 Nm.
For 3SE.230:
Fasten screws of the housing cover with 0.8 to 1.0 Nm.
