The FC410LI com plies with the fol low ing:
prod uct fam ily stan dard EN50130-4 in re spect of Con ducted Dis tur -
bances, Ra di ated Im mu nity,
and Slow High En ergy;
EN61000-6-3 for emis sions.
INTRODUCTION
The FC410LI Line Iso la tor Mod ule is de signed to be used on the FC ad dress able
con trol ler loop cir cuits. It mon i tors the line con di tion and when de tect ing a short cir -
cuit will iso late the af fected sec tion whilst al low ing the rest of the ad dress ing cir cuit
to func tion nor mally. The pur pose of the FC410LI Line Iso la tor Mod ule is to en sure
that, on a looped ad dress able sys tem, no short cir cuit fault can dis able more de -
tec tion de vices than would be lost on a con ven tional non-ad dress able fire cir cuit.
INSTALLATION TO FC470CV ANCILLARY COVER
1) As sem ble the FC410LI to the FC470CV Dou ble Gang cover, us ing the
four screw and wash ers pro vided.
2) Fit cover onto dual-gang backbox.
CABLING
Ca bles are to be se lected in ac cor dance with the sys tem de sign doc u ment and
the re quire ments of the ap pli ca ble stan dards. One pair of ter mi nals is used to
pro vide a spur cir cuit (S+/S-). Two pairs of con nec tion ter mi nals (R+/R- and
L+/L-) are pro vided on the ter mi nal block. These ter mi nals are used for con nect -
ing the mod ule on to the ad dress able cir cuit. The max i mum sec tion of the ca ble
that can be con nected at any one ter mi nal is 2.5mm
based on the char ac ter is tics of the ca ble and the load.
WIRING NOTES
The fol low ing notes ap ply:
1) There are no user-re quired set tings (such as switches or head ers) on
the FC410LI.
2) All wir ing must con form to the ap pli ca ble standards.
3) All con duc tors to be free of earths.
4) Con nect loop wir ing. For FC410LI typ i cal wir ing con fig u ra tions (see Fig. 1b).
5) Ver ify the cor rect po lar ity of wir ing be fore con nect ing the FC410LI to the
ad dress able loop cir cuit.

It is pos si ble to con nect a max i mum of 32 de vices be tween two loop iso -
la tors (FC450IB o FC410LI), note that in the de vice count ing pro cess,
each FC410MIO or each FC410SIO adds a dou ble value.

ENGLISH
VERIFYING LOOP WIRING
WARNING: DO NOT MEGGER LOOP WIRING WITH LINE
ISOLATOR MODULES CONNECTED.
The Line Iso la tor Mod ule is not de signed to work with line volt ages above
the spec i fied max i mum 40 Vdc. This means that con ti nu ity test ing of the
loop wir ing with Line Iso la tor Bases con nected must be done us ing a volt age
be tween 20-40 Vdc.
The re sis tance mea sure ment range on con ven tional volt me ters use low
volt age only, there fore, the fol low ing method can be em ployed to con firm
loop in teg rity.
A power sup ply ca pa ble of pro vid ing 30-40 Vdc with a 300 to 600 mA cur rent
limit is con nected to one end of the loop (in cor rect po lar ity). A volt me ter is
con nected to the other end of the loop or any base along the loop to ver ify
the wir ing up to that point.
If there is no volt age out at any mea sured point, this may be due to:
1) Loop Open Cir cuit - wir ing in com plete to part of the loop.
2) In cor rect Po lar ity - FC410LI Line IsolatorModules will ap pear as a short
cir cuit if they are wired with in cor rect po lar ity.
3) Loop Short Cir cuit - If this oc curs be tween two FC410LI Line Iso la tor
Mod ules, it will iso late that sec tion of the line, which will then ap pear as
an open cir cuit.If this oc curs be tween the sup ply and the first FC410LI
Line Iso la tor Mod ules, the sup ply out put will go low due to the in ter nal
cur rent limit.

The mod ule fits onto a stan dard dual-gang backbox.
