Linking two mixers

It is possible to interconnect two mixers. Connect the PRE FADE OUT jack of unit one to AUX BUS IN jack
of unit two. Note that only the master control on unit two will now function.

Converting inputs to outputs

The line input on a channel can be converted into a line output and e.g. to connect it to the input of another
mixing console.
Caution!
To convert inputs to outputs, the unit must be opened. This is an electric installation which must only be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
1) Disconnect the unit from the mains.
2) Unscrew the housing cover.
3) Inside you will see a row of jumpers. Move the jumper for the desired channel to pins 2 and 3. Now that
channel's line input is converted to a line output.
Caution!
After a conversion, do not connect the output of a mixer or any other signal source to the corresponding
channel. Otherwise, the MLM-81and the units connected may be damaged.
4) Tightly screw the housing cover again before reconnecting the unit to the mains.
5) We recommend marking the jacks converted to line outputs accordingly!

Operation

To protect your audio equipment, specifically your speakers, follow this power-up sequence: Set all output
volume controls of any equipment to minimum. Switch on your audio sources first, then the mixer. Always
switch on amplifiers last. Then turn up the volume control on your sources (if provided) and set the output
volume of the mixer to a low level. Turn up the volume controls of your amplifier slowly. Make adjustments to
all volume and tone settings as needed. For switching off, follow the inverse sequence: always switch off
amplifiers first, then the mixer and then the audio sources.

6 Cleaning and Maintenance

Disconnect from mains before starting maintenance operation! We recommend a frequent cleaning of the
device. Please use a soft lint-free and moistened cloth. Never use alcohol or solvents!
There are no serviceable parts inside the device except for the fuse. Maintenance and service operations are
only to be carried out by authorized dealers.
If the fine-wire fuse of the device fuses, only replace the fuse by a fuse of same type and rating. Before
replacing the fuse, unplug mains lead.
Should you need any spare parts, please use genuine parts. If the power supply cable of this device
becomes damaged, it has to be replaced by a special power supply cable available at your dealer.
