Kit contents AIRWOLF
Please first read the instructions, in order to familiarize yourself
with the assembly of the Airwolf fuselage.
Attention! Please observe the instructions how to work with the
adhesives.
CA Glue
Cyanoacrylate (CA) glue bonds skin an eye lids instantly. In case
of eye contact, avoid blinking, rinse with water and seek medical
attention immediately.
Keep CA glue out of the reach of children. Avoid breathing in vapors.
Use only in well ventilated areas. Do not use CA glue on foamed plastic.
UHU Por:
This adhesive is a contact glue, i.e. apply a glue layer as thin as
possible to the components you want to join together; let the glue dry for
approx. 5 - 10 minutes before joining the components together.
Canopy mount
Assemble the Piccolo mechanics as described in the Piccolo
instructions. Omit the skids, main motor, tail tube and tail skid.
Shorten the two rear carbon fiber landing gear struts to a length
th
of 27 mm (1 1/16 in.), and glue them on as described. Cut off
th
an approx. 35 mm (1 3/8 in.) long piece of the tail tube, and glue it
into the mechanics without running the wires of the tail motor
through it.
In case you are using an existing mechanics first unsolder the
wires at the tail motor, and then pull them forward out of the tail tube.
Now cut off the tail tube in such a way that it protrudes 10

to 15 mm from the chassis. Remove the two front struts,
shorten the two rear struts to a length of 27 mm (1 1/16 in.).
Now cut off the tail tube flush with the tail rotor housing.
Contrary to the standard Piccolo the mechanics are mounted to
the carbon canopy mount No. 67380. The joint of the
chassis plate and the canopy mount must be carefully reinforced
by using carbon fibers and CA glue. Therefore wind the fibers
from below around the canopy mount and chassis plate and apply
additional CA glue. Now install the tuning motor G-310 with the
9-tooth pinion. Use the screws which come with the tuning motor,
but without washers.
The Assembly
Warning! For cutting out the recesses and windows a very
sharp scalpel is included in the kit. Please use it with extreme
caution (danger of injury!).
Assemble the right and left fuselage half shell and check
their fit. If necessary, match the fuselage half shells at the joint
using sandpaper.
Attention: In order to make the model fly straight, the mechanics
has to be installed in an angle of approx. 3.5° to the right. This
set up is compensating the side thrust of the tail rotor and keeping
the model fly straight. Be aware that therefore the main frame section
and the mounts for the mechanics are not symmetrical and should
not be accidentally switched when being installed.
nd
Carefully drill 4mm (5/32 in.) holes at the marked areas for the main
landing gear axle. Now take the glazing sheet and cut off the
reinforcement strip leaving approx. 1mm excess material around the
strip. Now separate the reinforcements at the markings into four sections
and sand off the crests around the drill holes till the landing gear axle fits

Axle
Cut out the vacuum molded mechanics support along the marked
outline. Sand off the molded dome, until the shortened tail tube fits
th
into the hole. Do not sand off
too much material to avoid
any axle play. T ake the two
middle reinforcements, cut off
the 1 mm rim, and glue them
as shown with UHU Por
exactly over the holes on the
fuselage side. The two
outside reinforcements will be
needed later for the nose

support as shown to the main
former. Pay attention that the
cut-out at the former is to the
left, and also that the lower
edge of the support runs
parallel to the cut-out and the
holes.
