6 Connection
GB
1) Connect the BNC jack "VIDEO OUT" (6) via a 75 Ω
cable (e. g. MONACOR VEC-62/10) to the video input
of the following unit (e. g. monitor, camera switcher,
video splitter). With a cable length of more than 100 m
a video amplifier should be connected between cam-
era and cable to compensate cable loss.
2) For the power supply connect an electronically regu-
lated 12 V power supply unit, e. g. MONACOR PS-
362ST to the low voltage jack "DC 12V" (12). The
current consumption is 120 mA. A plug 5.5/2.1 mm
(outside/inside diameter) is required. The positive
pole must be at the centre contact.

7 Setting into Operation

1) After applying the 12 V supply voltage, the camera is
ready for operation. The red LED (10) on the rear
side of the camera lights up.
2) Adjust the distance at the lens. In case of a lens with
manually adjustable iris adjust the iris for optimum
image reproduction (depth of focus and brightness).
3) If the picture is not clear with correctly adjusted dis-
tance, correct the mechanical focus setting for the
lens. For this purpose, loosen the two hexagon head
screws (3) with the supplied hexagonal key. Adjust a
clear picture by turning the complete lens [if neces-
sary, including the adapter ring (2)]. Then tighten the
screws again.

4) When using a lens with automatic iris control, cor-
rect the video signal level for the iris control if the
picture is reproduced too dark or too bright:
If a DC voltage controlled lens is used, adjust the
optimum video level by turning the control "LEVEL"
(11) with a small screw driver.
For video signal controlled lenses the level con-
trol for the video signal is located at the lens.
7.1 Automatic gain control (AGC)
With the switch "AGC" (9) select the control range for
the automatic gain control.
Position "LO" (5 – 32 dB amplification):
standard setting
Position "HI" (5 – 50 dB amplification):
if the illumination of the surveillance area is so poor
that in case of standard setting the object to be mon-
itored cannot sufficiently be recognized any more.
7.2 Automatic electronic shutter
When using a lens with manual iris adjustment, set the
switch "ELC" (7) to "ON". In this position the automatic
electronic shutter is switched on: the exposure time is
automatically adjusted to the momentary brightness.
The camera operates with exposure times from
1
/
s.
100 000
When using a lens with automatic iris control, set the
switch "ELC" to "OFF".
