Using the Air Damper

To achieve good combustion, which results in better heating efficiency, it
is important to add the right amount of air to the fire. Air is regulated with
a user-friendly, one-lever system that is located under the stove door; see
Figure 2. The lever has a range of 8 mm. The stove is equipped with a
lighting mechanism. To activate the lighting mechanism, the air damper,
when pulled completely out, should be pushed to the right, which will
allow the damper to be pulled further out. Once the lighting mechanism
is activated, the damper can be pulled out an additional 7 mm. This setting
allows the stove to take in air through the grate (primary air). Only use the
lighting mechanism when lighting a cold stove and when firing new wood.
In the table below you can see the effect on air flow in relation to the position of the lever.

Some Things Worth Knowing about Firing

Maximum Firing Amount
Maximum amounts per hour:
Fuel
Wood
Warning: Too much heat can destroy your wood-burning stove, the chimney and your fireplace
ducts. Therefore, if you exceed the abovementioned limits, your wood-burning stove, chimney
and fireplace duct will no longer be covered by the factory guarantee.
Effect on Air Flow
All primary air to the stove is shut
off and the pane-flushing air is set
to its lowest setting.
Combustion air and pane-flushing
airare opened up. Pane-flushing
air is regulated by pulling the
lever -7 mm towards yourself.
Lighting air is opened (primary air)
and can be regulated.
Used for
This setting should only be used
when the wood-burning stove has
been shut off completely, such as
during cleaning and slower burning.
Use this setting when the wood is
burning well in order to get the most
use from it.
Use this setting when lighting a cold
stove and when firing new wood.
Once the wood is burning well, push
the lever just far enough in to close
the lighting air.
