10.6 Operating Conditions
The protection device is designed for flush mounting in conventional relay rooms
and systems such that electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is ensured with proper
flush mounting.
Siemens additionally recommends:
•
Use contactors and relays that work within the same cabinet or the same relay
panel with digital protection equipment, only with suitable quenching equip-
ment.
•
With switchgear rated at 100 kV or higher, provide external connecting lines
with shielding grounded at both ends that are capable of carrying current. No
special measures are necessary in medium-voltage systems.
•
Removing or plugging in a devices or its internal components under live voltage
is prohibited. Some components are electro-statically sensitive in the removed
state. Pay attention to the ESD specifications (Electro-statically Sensitive De-
vices). There is no danger for the components when they are installed.
