Attention
This unit is intended primarily as a battery charger. If you use it as a power
supply please keep in mind that upon switching from 12 to 6 V a residual
potential of 12 V is present. This may cause damage to a connected device.
Please Notice
If the battery is still mounted in the vehicle, disconnect the negative pole
(black clamp) first, and after that the negative pole (red clamp). Batteries in
motor vehicles may only be charged when disconnected from the vehicle's
electric system. This avoids possible damage to the generator, the
regulator or electronic systems.
Please ensure adequate ventilation during charging and use the charger
only indoors. If necessary remove the battery from the vehicle.
Regularly check the fluid level in the individual cells of the battery (not
possible/necessary for every type of battery). After removing the caps of
the cells, top up with distilled water, but do not fill higher than just over the
electrodes.

Procedures before Charging a Battery

First, make sure the power plug is not connected. This avoids an
accidental short-circuit across the charging clamps.
Set the unit to 6 V if you intend to charge a 6 V battery and set to 12 V for
a 12 V battery. The 2 A charging current is to be selected when a battery
with a low capacity needs to be charged or just a conservation charge is
needed. For batteries with higher capacity, set the charging current to 4
Ampere (normal charge).
1. Attach the included connecting cable to the corresponding terminal of the
unit (the black cable to the negative pole (5) and the red cable to the
positive pole (6)). To do so unscrew the clamp on the unit counter clock-
wise until the cable shoe of the cable fits. After that tighten the clamp.
2. Select the correct nominal voltage of the battery 6 V or 12 V with the
selector switch Voltage (2). Use the switch current (3) to select the correct
charging current 2 A or 4 A.
3. Plug the power plug (4) of the charger into a 230 V AC / 50 Hz protected
socket.
Read the current charging state from the ampere meter (1). The range
extends from the red zone (Battery 0% - maximal charging current) to the
green zone (Battery 100% - minimal charging current).
