Operating Instructions
R35/8G, R60/8G and R120/3G tubular drives are intended solely for use in roller shutter and sun protection systems with an
emergency power supply (battery pack), or for special applications (subject to approval by Becker-Antriebe GmbH) where
safety extra low voltage is needed or where the system can easily be operated on motor power in the event of power failure.
Any other use or a use going beyond this is considered as improper.
If the controls and drives are used for other purposes than those specifi ed above, or if modifi cations are made to the equip-
ment, which affect the safety of the system, then the manufacturer or supplier will not accept any liability for possible injuries
or damages occurred to persons or to property, nor for any consequential damages.
For operation or possible repair of the system, these operating instructions must be adhered to. In the event of improper han-
dling, the manufacturer or supplier will not accept liability for possible injuries or damages occurred to persons or to property,

Mounting Instructions

The installation engineer must fi rst of all ensure that the masonry and the
roller shutter box are suffi ciently robust (torque of the drive plus weight of the
roller shutter).
Caution
Electrical connections should only be performed by a quali-
fi ed electrician. Disconnect the mains supply before installa-
tion. Please give the attached information on electrical con-
nections to the responsible electrician.
When installing the drive, ensure that the following steps are followed:
1. Fitting the mounting pin
The mounting pin is secured by a bearer plate. To loosen the mounting pin,
unscrew the screw and remove the bearer plate (Fig. 1)
2. Determine the lateral space requirement (M) for the head piece, the limit
switch collar and the motor bracket (Fig. 2), in order to calculate the re-
quired barrel length.
3. The clear dimension of the roller shutter box (X) minus the total length of
the wall bracket, head piece (M) and limit switch collar (G) gives the length
(L) of the barrel:
L = X(G+M) (Fig. 3).
Measure the distance between the wall bracket and connecting head it-
self, as this may vary depending on the combination of motor and brack-
et.
4. Secure the wall bracket and limit switch collar.
• Installation of drive adaptor with screw connection on drives
R35/8G to R120/3G:
In this case an M6x12 screw is used for fastening. This is secured with an
M6 plain washer and an appropriate toothed washer (Fig. 3).
