HINTS AND TIPS

• Never lift the lid off the Mini Steamer during cooking as this will reduce the
temperature and affect the cooking result.
• Steaming times stated in the cooking guide are only a guide. Times may vary
depending on size of the food pieces, spacing of the food on the steamer trays,
quantity of food, freshness of food and personal preference. As you become familiar
with the steamer, adjust the cooking times as necessary.
• For best results, be sure pieces of food are similar in size. If pieces vary in size and
layering is required, place smaller pieces on top.
• Do not crowd food in the steamer. Arrange the food with spaces between pieces to
allow for maximum steam flow.
• When cooking eggs, ensure they are fresh and at room temperature.
• If the eggs are not to be eaten as soon as they are cooked you can avoid the dark
circles forming by running them under cold water when cooked and removing their
shells as soon as they've cooled.
• When steaming rice you will require equal amounts of rice to water in the steamer
basket.
• Always ensure meat is placed below other food types.
• Never steam meat, poultry or seafood from frozen. Always completely thaw first.
