Functions of the EDS 3000

Depending on which design you have, the device offers the following functions:
• Display of the current pressure in PSI, MPa, bar
• Switches switch outputs according to pressure and the set switching parameters
• Analogue output
• (EDS 3000 can be adapted to suit the current application)
• Menu navigation in accordance with the VDMA standard sheet 24574-1

Installation

The EDS 3000 can be installed directly above the pressure port or indirectly
on a hydraulic block with a hose or a mini measuring line
(for torque value, see Chapter 10 - Technical specifications). Optimal alignment is best
achieved with a rotation of about 340° for the longitudinal axis and about 270° for the
display, including the control panel.
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician according to the
relevant regulations of the country concerned (VDE 0100 in Germany). This includes
properly earthing the housing of the pressure switch. When fitted into a hydraulic block,
earthing the block via the hydraulic system is sufficient. When installing with a mini
measuring line, the housing must be earthed separately (e.g. with a screened cable).
CAUTION:
The EDS 3000 must be fitted using a suitable open-jaw wrench (width across
flats 27) on the hexagon nut of the pressure port.
Inappropriate installation methods, such as fitting manually above the housing,
can, due to the rotatability of the EDS 3000, damage the housing or even cause
the device to fail completely.
Additional installation suggestions which, from experience, reduce the effect of
electromagnetic interference:
• Make line connections as short as possible
• Use screened cabling (e.g. LIYCY 4 x 0.5 mm²)
• The cable screening must be fitted by qualified personnel subject to the ambient
conditions and with the aim of suppressing interference
• Keep the unit well away from the electrical supply lines of power equipment, as well
as from any electrical or electronic equipment causing interference
