Delivery contents

An advantage of serial communication is the saving of parallel
output cards in the PLC and of cables between the PLC and the
valves.
Special software in the PLC allows the user to handle the bus
coupler like a standard parallel I/O.
PROFIBUS DP is a master-slave bus system, with a maximum of
2 masters and 122 passive participants. There are two types of
transmission media available:

2-wire cable (shielded)
W
fibre cable

Device description

The VS LP04 with internal bus electronics is linked to a
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) via the PROFIBUS DP
protocol.
Each bus coupler can drive up to 32 valve solenoids (16 valves).
The least significant bit of the data area powers coil 14 of the
first valve, the next bit powers coil 12 of the first valve and so on.
