ELA-Verstärker PA-1202
Ein sehr leistungsstarker, in professioneller Qualität
ausgeführter Mono-Beschallungsverstärker, 230 V~/
50 Hz und 24-V-Gleichspannungsbetrieb. Tempera-
turfeste Siliziumtechnik des gesamten Verstärkerauf-
baus. Umfangreiche Schutzschaltungen sind einge-
baut.
1 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektro-
magnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der
Niederspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netz-
spannung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie

deshalb niemals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor.
Durch unsachgemäßes Vorgehen besteht die
Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages. Außer-
dem erlischt beim Öffnen des Gerätes jeg-
licher Garantieanspruch.
Vorsicht! Im Betrieb liegt an den Laut-
sprecheranschlüssen berührungsgefährliche
Spannung an.
Alle Anschlüsse nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät vornehmen bzw. verändern.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:
Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in Räumen
geeignet.
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und Hitze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0–40 °C).
Die in dem Gerät entstehende Wärme muß durch
Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Darum dürfen
die Lüftungsschlitze des Gehäuses nicht mit
irgendwelchen Gegenständen abgedeckt werden.

PA Amplifier PA-1202
A very efficient mono PA amplifier in professional
quality for 230 V~/50 Hz and 24 V DC operation. Due
to the silicon technique the complete amplifier is
insensitive to temperature changes. Extensive pro-
tection circuits are installed.
2 Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the directive 89/336/
EEC for electromagnetic compatibility and the low
voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
The unit uses dangerous mains voltage

(230 V~). To prevent a shock hazard, do not
open the cabinet. Leave servicing to author-
ized skilled personnel only. Besides, any
guarantee claim expires if the unit has been
opened.
Caution! A dangerous voltage is present at
the speaker connections during the operation.
All connections must only be performed resp.
changed if the unit is switched off.
For the operation also watch in any case the follow-
ing items:
The unit is only suitable for indoor use.
Avoid excessively warm locations for the unit or
high humidity (permissible operating temperature
range 0–40 °C).
The heat which is generated in the unit has to be
carried off via air circulation. Therefore, the air
vents of the housing and the heat sinks at the sides
must not be covered.
Do not insert or drop anything into the air vents!
This could result in electric shock.
Do not set the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen.

Nichts durch die Lüftungsschlitze stecken oder fal-

Schlag kommen.
Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen und sofort den
Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen, wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netz-
anschlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Reparatur in eine
Fachwerkstatt geben.
Den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung aus der
Steckdose ziehen.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient
oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann für eventu-
elle Schäden keine Haftung übernommen werden.
Für die Reinigung nur ein trockenes, weiches Tuch
verwenden, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien oder
Wasser.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
2 Verstärker anschließen
Alle Ein- und Ausgänge nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät anschließen!
2.1 Lautsprecher
Die Anschlußmöglichkeiten für die Lautsprecher sind
in Abb. 3–8 dargestellt. Entsprechend der Gesamt-
impedanz sind 4-Ω- oder 8-Ω-Lautsprecher an die
Schraubklemmen (12) anzuschließen. Dabei ist auf
die richtige Einzel- bzw. Gesamtimpedanz der Laut-
sprecher und auf die richtige Polung der Lautspre-
cher zu achten (Plus- und Minusanschlüsse, wie in
Abb. 3–6 gezeigt). Der Plusanschluß der Lautspre-
cherkabel ist immer besonders gekennzeichnet.
ELA-Lautsprecher mit 70-V- oder 100-V-Audio-
transformator an die Schraubanschlüsse (14) an-
schließen.

The unit must in any case be repaired by author-
ized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket
by means of the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated or connected in the wrong
way or not repaired by authorized skilled person-
nel, there is no liability for possible damage.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
bring it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and yel-
low.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
Bei ELA-Lautsprechern mit Audiotransformator
(Abb. 7 + 8) darf die Gesamtbelastung durch die
Lautsprecher nicht mehr als 100 W Sinus betra-
gen, sonst wird der Verstärker überlastet. Er kann
dann beschädigt werden.
2.2 Vorverstärker- und Line-Ausgang
Diese Ausgänge sind auf der Geräterückseite als
Cinch-Buchse REC (16) und als 6,3-mm-Klinken-
buchse LINE OUT (19) vorhanden.
2.3 Eingangsanschlüsse
Die gewünschten Eingangsbuchsen (18, 20–22)
werden beschaltet. Die Umschalter MIC/LINE (23)
für die Eingänge MIC/LINE 1–4 (22) auf die entspre-
chende Stellung schalten.
Wird ein Plattenspieler mit Magnetsystem an die
Klinkenbuchse MAG. PHONO (20) oder eine Quelle
am Reserveeingang AUX (18) angeschlossen, muß
der Schiebeschalter (4) auf MAG. PHONO oder AUX
stehen. Der AUX-Eingang ist auch für Kassetten/
Tonbandbetrieb an der Cinch-Buchse PB (15) vor-
handen.
3 Bedienung
1) Zunächst die Regler (1+ 6) in Position „0" stellen.
2) Mit dem Netzstecker wird jetzt die Verbindung
zum Netz (230 V~/50 Hz) hergestellt. Nach dem
Einschalten leuchtet die Kontrollampe ON (10) auf.
3) Ein Schalter (3) ist in jedem der MIC/LINE-Kanäle
1–4 angeordnet:
OFF
= Kanal aus
LO CUT = Trittschallfilter ein
FLAT
= linear
Ist ein Kanal eingeschaltet, leuchtet die zuge-
hörige LED (2).
4) Die Eingangsregler (1) sowie die Tonregler (5) auf
die gewünschten Werte stellen. Die Gesamtlaut-
stärke mit dem Hauptregler MASTER (6) einstel-
len. Das VU-Meter (7) zeigt den Pegel an.
2 Connecting the Amplifier
Only connect all inputs and outputs with the unit
switched off!
2.1 Speakers
The connections for the speakers are shown in figs.
3–8. According to the total impedance connect 4 Ω
and 8 Ω speakers to the screw terminals (12). Watch
the correct individual resp. total impedance of the
speakers and the correct polarity of the speakers
(positive and negative connections, as shown in figs.
3–6). The positive connection of the speaker cables
is always especially marked.
Connect PA speakers with a 70 V or 100 V audio
transformer to the screw terminals (14).
With PA speakers with an audio transformer
(fig. 7 + 8) the total load by the speakers must not
exceed 100 W
, otherwise the amplifier is over-

loaded. It may then be damaged.
2.2 Preamplifier and line outputs
These outputs are provided as phono jacks REC (16)
and 6.3 mm jack LINE OUT (19) at the amplifier rear.
2.3 Input connections
The input jacks (18, 20–22) are connected as de-
sired. Set the selector switches MIC/LINE (23) for
the inputs MIC/LINE 1–4 (22) to the corresponding
positions.
If a turntable with magnetic system is connected
to the 6.3 mm jack MAG. PHONO (20) or a source to
the auxiliary input AUX (18), the sliding switch (4)
must be set to MAG. PHONO or AUX.
For cassette/audio tape operation use the AUX
input, phono jack PB (15).
