Set the grinding depth on the depth stop
(4). The chain should only be ground until it
is sharp. If it is ground too much, it will not
last as long.
Grinding
Start the machine by pressing the on/off
button (1).
Grip the handle (2), and gently press the
grinding disc against the chain's tooth.
Remember to use protective goggles, since
grinding often produces sparks.
Do not hold the top down too long. Be
careful, as the chain may get hot during
grinding!
Release the on/off button and allow the
chain grinder to stop fully.
Move the chain in the chain holder until the
next tooth is stopped by the chain stop.
Grind the new tooth as described above.
Continue as above until all the teeth have
been ground.
Finally grind all the rakers on the chain
manually with a metal file.
NOTE: Alternative teeth on a saw chain
face opposite sides. You should make
sure therefore that you only grind every
other tooth! Then turn the turntable to the
opposite angle and repeat the procedure
for the remaining teeth.
Turn off and unplug the chain grinder once
you have finished grinding.
Replacing grinding discs
The grinding disc becomes worn with time.
It should be replaced at the latest when its
diameter is reduced by 15 mm.
Unplug the chain grinder from the mains.
Remove the protective guard (3) by
removing the screws with a screwdriver.
Hold the axle securely and remove the lock
nut that holds the grinding disc in place.
