• Searching the signal
In >Communication< and >Sensors< diagnostics, you can search
for the signal to be measured for as long as you like prior to the
actual diagnostics. The device provides hints and tips for finding the
signal.
• Evaluation
The signal is evaluated using the nominal values stored in the
device, which are based on manufacturers' data and empirical
values. In some cases, however, the signals can deviate from the
standard due to a different construction of the component or the
system. Therefore, check these signals under >Oscilloscope<
again and compare the read out actual values to the nominal
values given by the manufacturer before replacing the component.
NOTE
A number of adapters, including terminal clamps and
probes, are supplied with the device in order to pick off the
signal. For reasons of corrosion protection, it is advisable
to seal the perforation of cables or sealing rings tapped
beforehand with silicone or another sealing agent.
The message Test finished. appears if the measurement has been done
successfully.
The individual measurements are evaluated afterwards.
NOTE
If you do not enter a registration number or the customer
name, the device does not store any data of the current
vehicle in the Car History.
