Inserting Ethernet card
Refer to Procedure
• Ethernet card OZZ7E5 serves for communicating via Ethernet
TCP/IP
• On the central communication unit, the slot for the Ethernet
card is on the right hand side under the removable cover
Insert the Ethernet card
Before inserting the Ethernet card into the unit,
switch off AC 24 V operating voltage!

Updating firmware

Refer to Procedure
• The CF card (compact flash card) OZZ7CF with the latest
firmware version must be ordered as a separate item
• Use ACS to read the firmware version currently running on the
central communication unit and - if required - make an update
with the latest version supplied with the CF card
• The CF card also contains the file with the latest web server
data (refer to Procedure G2
Update the unit with the latest firmware
During the update process, do not switch off
AC 24 V operating voltage!
Disconnection of power sets the unit into an undefined
state which can only be reset by Siemens Building
Technologies (HQ Zug, Switzerland).
Note
• The firmware update is only indicated by the LEDs
G1 Procedure
Insert CF card in slot "CF Card Config/Report" at the bottom.
Start the update process with a "long" and simultaneous push
on the "Ack", "Config", "Modem" and "Report" buttons.
The update process takes several minutes.
Note: LED "CF Cards" starts flashing and changes to steady
on. Then, the next LED starts flashing to change to steady on
until all 4 LEDs are lit. Then, the unit is automatically restarted.
The update process is completed when LED "Run" lights up.
Note: On completion of the update process, the unit switches
to commissioning mode "On" (does not correspond to normal
operation, refer to Commissioning Instructions C5663en).

Button combinations
In the case of button combinations, always use the "long" push.
Addressing mode (programming mode)
Press the "Modem" and "Report" buttons simultaneously.
Restart of central communication unit
Press the "Modem" and "Ack" buttons simultaneously.
Default state
Press the "Modem", "Ack" and "Config" buttons simultaneously.
Note: All configuration data and settings will be reset. The device
directory and all undelivered messages will be deleted. History
data will not be deleted.
F Procedure
Push cover snap to the left, and
Hold cover on the left side, lift and remove it.
Bend the cover's protective rib downward and remove it (to
gain access to the RJ45 socket on the Ethernet card).
Place the Ethernet card in the slot on the right hand side and
push it carefully down.
Note: Don't bend the pins when pushing the card down
Replace cover.
Note: Switch AC 24 V operating voltage on again.
Preparing web server data
Refer to Procedure
• The CF card (compact flash card) OZZ7CF with the latest web
server data must be ordered as a separate item
• Preparation of web server data is required for central commu-
nication units operating as web servers
• The CF card also contains the file with the latest firmware ver-
sion (refer to Procedure G1
Preparation of web server data (firmware update completed)
During the preparation of web server data, do not
switch off AC 24 V operating voltage!
Central communication unit, PC / laptop and web browser
• Connect the unit to a PC / laptop via USB (PC / laptop must
have RNDIS driver installed)
• Start the web browser and enter IP address 192.168.250.1.
The web browser displays:
G2 Procedure
Insert CF card in slot "CF Card Memory" at the top.
Initialize the CF card with a "long" push on the "Config" button.
This starts the preparation automatically.
Preparation is completed when LEDs "Run" and "CF Cards"
light up. The web browser displays:
User name: Administrator
Password: OZW775
Note: For operation as a web server, the CF card must be left
in slot "CF Card Memory" at the top.
