Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void.
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted for
safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy. Devices operated using mains voltage must be kept out of
the reach of children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use only in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product
should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
With the wall plug transformers there is also the deadly peril of an electric shock!
• The design of the wall plug transformers complies with Protection Class II. Use
only a standard mains socket as the power source for the wall plug transformers.
The mains socket into which the two wall plug transformers are plugged must be
easily accessible.
• Only use the two provided wall plug transformers to power the HDMI extension.
• Do not disconnect the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by pulling the
cable. Hold the wall plug transformer by the sides of the casing and pull it out of
the mains socket.
• If a wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is danger to life from
electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or, for example
remove the safety fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective switch,
so that the socket is fully disconnected).
You can then unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket. Dispose of
the faulty wall plug transformer in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any
more. Replace it by a wall plug transformer of the same design.

Version 03/13
a) Direct connection between "Transmitter" and "Receiver"
• Connect the "Transmitter" (1) and the "Receiver" (2) through a 1:1 connected, fully wired
RJ45 network cable (10).
The maximum transmission distance depends on the cable type used:
CAT5e: Up to 70 m
CAT6: Up to 120 m
CAT7: Up to 150 m
• The remaining connections are explained in Section c).
b) Connecting "Transmitter" and "Receiver" to a gigabit network
• Connect the "Transmitter" (1) and the "Receiver" (2) through a 1:1 connected, fully wired
RJ45 network cable (10) with your gigabit switch (12) or gigabit router.
• The remaining connections are explained in Section c).
c) Valid procedure for the two connection types
• Connect the IR transmission module (4) to the "Transmitter" (1) (labelled "IR Blaster"). Place
the IR transmission module (4) such that it lies in front of or near the IR receiver of your
playback device, e.g., a BluRay player, a gaming console or even a multimedia computer (8).
• Connect the IR transmission module (5) to the "Receiver" (2) (labelled "IR Receiver"). Place
the IR receiver (5) such that it lies in the transmission range of the IR remote control (11) that
you are using.
• Connect the "Transmitter" (1) to your playback device (8) via an HDMI-compatible cable (6).
• Connect the "Receiver" (2) to your monitor/TV or projector (9) via an HDMI-compatible cable
(7).
• Connect the "Transmitter" (1) and "Receiver" (2) with one wall plug transformer apiece (3)
and plug each wall plug transformer (3) into a power socket. The red power LEDs on the two
devices light up.
• The LED "Link" on the "Transmitter" (1) and "Receiver" (2) lights up when the data con-
nection between the two devices is active (this can take a few seconds). During the search
operation, an appropriate message is displayed on the connected monitor/TV (e.g., "Search-
ing TX" = Search for a transmitter or "Check connection" = Check all cable connections).
• The LED "ACT" fl ashes when data is being transmitted between "Transmitter" (1) and
"Receiver" (2).
Either the "Transmitter" and "Receiver" can be connected directly with the help of
a customary 1:1 connected network cable, or you can connect the two devices to
an existing gigabit network (e.g., a gigabit switch or router with integrated gigabit
switch).
