Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt dient zur Umwandlung und nachfolgender Darstellung eines PC-VGA-Bildsignals
auf einem Fernseher (mit Video-, S-Video- oder Scart-RGB-Eingang).

gilt, wenn das Produkt abgesteckt werden soll.

Kontrollieren Sie zuerst die Einstellungen der DIP-Schalter. Je nach verwendetem TV-Standard
(z.B. PAL oder NTSC) sind die DIP-Schalter 1, 2 und 3 korrekt einzustellen.
Für Deutschland ist die vorletzte Einstellung (PAL-G: Off/On/Off) zu wählen.

Weiterhin ist über den DIP-Schalter 4 einzustellen, welcher Anschluss (RGB oder S-Video/FBAS
aktiviert wird.
Ist der DIP-Schalter 4 in der Stellung "OFF", so ist der S-Video/FBAS-Ausgang aktiviert, ist er
in der Stellung "ON", so ist der RGB-Ausgang aktiviert.
Bevor Sie den VGA-TV-Converter mit dem PC verbinden, ist die Auflösung und die Bildfrequenz
der Grafikkarte zu überprüfen und ggf. zu ändern.
Der VGA-TV-Converter kann folgende Auflösungen/Bildfrequenzen der VGA-Grafikkarte in ein
TV-Bild umwandeln:

Bei höheren/anderen Bildfrequenzen kann der VGA-TV-Converter und der ange-
schlossene Fernseher beschädigt werden!

Stellen Sie in der Systemsteuerung (Start/Einstellungen/Systemsteuerung) in der "Anzeige"
° (oder rechten Mausklick auf den Desktop und dann "Eigenschaften" wählen) unter
"Einstellungen" den Bildschirmbereich korrekt ein und wählen Sie ggf. unter "Weitere
Optionen" und "Grafikkarte" die korrekte Aktualisierungsrate aus, sofern diese Option dort
vorhanden ist.
Verbinden Sie den VGA-TV-Converter erst nach dieser Überprüfung/Einstellung mit PC,
Monitor und dem Fernseher:
• Wählen Sie die Stromversorgungsart:
a) PS/2-Adapter
Fügen Sie den PS/2-Adapter zwischen dem PS/2-Tastaturanschluss Ihres Motherboards und
der PS/2-Tastatur ein (bzw. stecken Sie den PS/2-Adapter in die PS/2-Tastaturbuchse Ihres
Notebooks ein) und verbinden Sie ihn mit der Strombuchse auf dem VGA-TV-Converter.
b) USB-Adapter
Stecken Sie den USB-Stecker in einen High-Power-USB-Port Ihres PCs ein. Ein High-Power-
USB-Port kann max. 500mA Strom liefern. Dies kann z.B. der USB-Anschluss direkt auf Ihrem
Motherboard oder der USB-Port eines USB-Hubs mit eigenem Netzteil sein.
Verbinden Sie das Stromkabel des Adapters dann mit der Strombuchse auf dem VGA-TV-
Converter.
• Verbinden Sie das VGA-Y-Kabel wie folgt mit PC, Monitor und VGA-TV-Converter:
Bedienungs-
• Abhängig von der Stellung des DIP-Schalters 4 verbinden Sie den VGA-TV-Converter über
das korrekte Kabel (RGB, S-Video oder FBAS) mit Ihrem Fernseher.
Schalten Sie dann alle Geräte ein.
Mit den Pfeiltasten auf dem VGA-TV-Converter lässt sich die Position des Bildes auf dem
Fernseher verändern.
Die "Zoom"-Taste aktiviert den Vergrößerungsmodus. Mit den Pfeiltasten kann der
Bildausschnitt gewählt werden. Nochmaliger Druck auf die "Zoom"-Taste schalten den
Vergrößerungsmodus wieder ab.
Die "Size"-Taste funktioniert nur im 640*480-Modus - sie schaltet dort zwischen "Underscan"
und "Overscan" um, kann also die Bildgröße bei einer PC-Auflösung von 640*480 Punkten
"
etwas erhöhen.
Tipps & Hinweise
Wählen Sie auf Ihrem Fernseher den korrekten AV-Eingang, siehe Anleitung zu Ihrem
Fernseher.
Der VGA-Ausgang eines Notebooks muss evtl. zuerst aktiviert werden (z.B. per Tastatur oder
per Systemsteuerung/Software. Beachten Sie die Anleitung zu Ihrem Notebook.
Einige externe TFT-Monitore zeigen u.U. nach dem Anschluss über den VGA-TV-Converter kein
Bild mehr an, oder das Bild ist zu hell oder zu dunkel. Verwenden Sie dann einen herkömm-
lichen VGA-Röhrenmonitor.
Kontrollieren Sie die korrekte Einstellung der DIP-Schalter. Je nach Stellung des DIP-Schalters
4 kann nur der RGB- oder der S-Video/FBAS-Anschluss verwendet werden! Die DIP-Schalter
1 bis 3 sind für die Wahl der TV-Norm des angeschlossenen Fernsehers erforderlich.
Das RGB-Signal bietet eine bessere Bildqualität als FBAS oder S-Video. Allerdings ist dazu ein
Fernseher mit RGB-Eingang erforderlich. Fast alle Videorecorder bieten keinen RGB-Eingang,
das RGB-Signal kann so nicht auf Band aufgezeichnet werden! Nutzen Sie dazu das FBAS-
Signal.

Prescribed use
The product serves to transform a PC VGA image signal and to display it subsequently on a TV

• FBAS/ S video output or RGB output for Scart (requiring a TV set with an RGB input). Video
recorders mostly have no RGB input !).

Safety instructions
Any claims for guarantee will become invalid in the event of damage that
results from the non-observance of the operating manual. Guarantees will
not be accepted in any such case.
If the product is to be plugged to the PC turn the PC off before. Do the same
if the product is to be unplugged.

First, check the settings of the DIP switches. Correctly adjust the DIP switches 1, 2, and 3
depending on the TV standard used (e. g. PAL or NTSC).
Choose the setting before last for Germany (PAL G: Off/ On/ Off)

Furthermore, use the DIP switch 4 for setting which connection to activate (RGB or S video/
FBAS).
IF the DIP switch 4 is in the "OFF" position the S video/ FBAS output is activated, if it is in the
"ON" position the RGB output is activated.
Check the resolution and frame frequency of the graphics board and change it, if necessary,
before connecting the VGA TC converter to the PC.
The VGA TV converter is capable of converting the following resolutions/frame frequencies of
the VGA graphics board into a TV frame:

The VGA TV converter and the TV set connected to it may be damaged if frame
frequencies are higher or different.

Correctly adjust the frame range in the system control (Start/Settings/System control) in the
° "display" (or click the mouse on the right-hand side on the desk top and select
"Characteristics" subsequently) under "Settings" and, in case of need, select the correct
updating rate under "More options" and "Graphics board" in case this option exists there. )
Do not connect the VGA TV converter to the PC, the monitor, and the TV set before you
make this check / this setting:
• Choose the power supply mode:
a) PS/ 2 adapter
Intercalate the PS/ 2 adapter between the PS/ 2 keyboard connection of your mother board
and
the PS/ 2 keyboard (or insert the PS/ 2 adapter into the PS/ 2 keyboard socket of your note-
book and connect it to the power socket on the VGA TV converter.
b) USB adapter
Insert the USB plug into a high-power USB port of your PC. A high-power USB port is capa-
ble of supplying a power maximum of 500mA. For instance, this can be the USB connection
directly on your mother board or the USB port of a USB hub which has a power supply unit of
its own.
Then, connect the power cable of the adapter to the power socket on the VGA TV converter.
• Connect the VGA- Y cable to rge PC, monitor, and VGA TV converter, proceeding as follows:

• Connect the VGA TC converter to your TV set via the correct cable (RGB, S video or FBAS)
depending on the position of the DIP switch.
The, turn on all devices.
The position of the frame on the TV set can be changed by means of the arrow keys on the VGA
TV converter.
The "Zoom" key activates the enlargement mode. The arrow keys are used to choose the fra-
me portion. Pressing the "Zoom" key another time causes the enlargement mode to be turned
off again.
The "Size" key operates only in the 640* 480 mode as it changes over there between
"Underscan" and "Overscan" , which means that it can slightly increase the frame size at a PC
"
resolution of 640* 480 pixels.
Recommendations & suggestions
Choose the correct AV input on your TV set, noting the instructions for your TV set.
The VGA output of a notebook possibly requires to be activated first (g. g. via the keyboar or
via the system control / the software. Note the instructions for your notebook.
After a connection is made via the VGA TV converter, some external TFT monitors will no lon-
ger show a frame or the frame is too light or dark, under certain circumstances. Use a con-
ventional VGA tube monitor in this case.
Check the DIP switches for their correct settings. Only the RGB connection or the S video/FBAS
connection can be used, which depends on the position of the DIP switch 4. The DIP switches
1 to 3 are required to choose the TV standard of the TV set which is connected.
The RGB signal provides a frame quality which is better than that of the FBAS or S video.
However, this requires a TV set having a RGB input. Almost all video recorders have no RGB
input and, thus, the RGB signal cannot be recorded on a tape. Use the FBAS signal for this pur-
pose.
