manual which must be adhered to.
The arrow symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
The product is only intended to be installed and used in dry indoor rooms; it must not
get damp or wet.
Observe the operating instructions!
Safety Instructions

Attention, important note!
Only persons with relevant electro-technical knowledge and experience
should carry out the installation! *)
If it is not installed properly, you risk:
• your own life
• the life of the user of the electrical system.
If it is not installed properly, you risk severe damage to property, e.g., by fire.
You face the risk of personal liability for any injury and material damage.
Contact an electrician!
*) Specialist knowledge required for the installation:
For the installation, in particular, the following expertise is required:
• the applicable "5 safety rules": Switch off power; secure against switching back
on; determine voltage-free status; earthing and short-circuiting; cover or fence off
nearby live parts
• Choose appropriate tools, meters and, if necessary, personal protective equip-
ment
• Evaluation of the measurement results
• Selection of the electrical installation material to ensure the shutdown conditions
• IP protection types
• Installation of the electrical installation material
• Type of mains supply network (TN system, IT system, TT system) and the con-
nection conditions that follow from them (classical earthing, protective earthing,
required additional measures, etc.)
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not connect
and install it yourself, but ask a qualified technician.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed
for safety and approval reasons. Do not open/dismantle it (apart from the pro-
cesses with regard to installation and connection described in these operating
instructions)! It does not contain any internal parts that need to be adjusted or
maintained by you.
• Maintenance, adjustment or repair work may only be carried out by an expert/
authorised service centre familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant re-
gulations.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children! There
is danger of a life-threatening electric shock! Install the product out of the reach
of children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations,
high humidity, moisture, combustible gases, vapours and solvents.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the
industrial workers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed!
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly as it may be a danger
to children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows or falls even
from a low height.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely

a specialist workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Installation/Connection
• The thermostat may be mounted and operated only in enclosed housings. Only
the shaft for the dial may lead outside. The provided dial (or another suitable dial)
must be mounted on the shaft.
• The specified safety distance between live components carrying mains voltage
(contacts or connections on the thermostat, etc.) and exposed parts of the en-
closure (the device in which the thermostat is installed) must be maintained at
all times.
• The device in which the thermostat is to be installed must be separated from
the mains voltage and all other cables/leads. Disconnect the mains plug from the
mains socket.
If the device has no mains plug, but is permanently connected to the mains vol-
tage, switch off the corresponding circuit breakers and also the RCD so that the
mains supply line is disconnected at all poles from the mains voltage.
Secure it against unauthorised reconnection, e.g., with a warning sign.
• Check to make sure there is no voltage with a suitable measuring instrument (e.g.,
a digital multimeter).
• Capacitors in the device in which the thermostat is to be installed can remain char-
ged for a long time, even after the device is switched off and disconnected from
the mains voltage. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Do not use the thermostat in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a danger of
explosion!
• The power rating of the thermostat (see "Technical Data") must not be exceeded.
• When routing the capillary tube and also when attaching the sensor, make sure
that neither the capillary tube nor the sensor is kinked, pinched or otherwise da-
maged.
• The capillary tube and also the sensor cannot and may not be shortened or cut
off. Do not turn any screws or anything similar through the sensor tip. Doing so
renders the thermostat unusable!
• Only use the thermostat when it has been fixed in place.
