Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde!
Beim Betriebssystem „Windows 7" ist eine besondere Vorgehensweise erforderlich, damit das
Produkt einwandfrei funktioniert.
Gehen Sie deshalb wie nachfolgend beschrieben vor:
• Laden Sie von unserer Website das Programm „Windy31Enabler.exe" herunter
(Downloadcenter zum jeweiligen Produkt). Wenn die Datei nicht als „exe" vorliegt, sondern als
„ZIP", ist diese noch mit einem geeigneten Programm zu entpacken.
• Schließen Sie den WLAN-Router-Stick an einen freien USB-Port des Computers an.
• Nach kurzer Zeit erscheint das Installationsprogramm, starten Sie die „Install.exe", wenn das
entsprechende Windows-Fenster erscheint.
• Das Fenster "Setup - Windy31" erscheint, nach der Installation wird ein neues Symbol auf dem
Desktop abgelegt („Windy31 Manager").
• Die Software wird automatisch gestartet und das Fenster "Windy31 Gateway" wird angezeigt.
• Kurze Zeit später erscheint das Fenster „This is not supported OS"; dies soll bedeuten, dass
das aktuelle Betriebssystem „Windows 7" nicht unterstützt wird.
• Klicken Sie in diesem Fenster auf „OK". Das Fenster erscheint insgesamt 3x, klicken Sie jedes
Mal auf „OK". Möglicherweise ist das Fenster verkleinert in der Menüleiste zu finden; öffnen
Sie dieses und klicken Sie dort auf „OK".
Lassen Sie das Programm/Hauptfenster „Windy31 Gateway" laufen, schließen Sie es nicht.
• Öffnen Sie den Dateimanager von Windows („Windows Explorer") und öffnen Sie im
Installationslaufwerk von Windows 7 das Verzeichnis "Programme".
Darin finden Sie das Verzeichnis „Windy31_Manager", öffnen Sie dieses. Darin wiederum ist
das Verzeichnis „Common" zu öffnen.
• Löschen Sie die Datei „Windy31Enabler.exe". Wenn ein Fenster erscheint, dass
Administrator-Rechte erforderlich sind, klicken Sie auf „Fortsetzen".
• Die Datei „Windy31Enabler.exe" im Verzeichnis „Common" wird nun gelöscht.
• Kopieren Sie die zu Beginn heruntergeladene Datei „Wind31Enabler.exe" in das Verzeichnis
„Common" hinein. Wenn ein Fenster erscheint, dass Administrator-Rechte erforderlich sind,
klicken Sie auf „Fortsetzen".
• Wählen Sie im noch laufenden Programm „Windy31 Gateway" die Funktion „Site Survey" aus.
• Klicken Sie unten rechts auf „Switch to Gateway mode".
• Windows meldet, dass die Firewall einige Funktionen des Programms blockiert hat. Hier ist
unbedingt auf „Zugriff zulassen" zu klicken, sonst funktioniert die Software nicht.
• Eine Meldung erscheint, dass das Programm erfolgreich installiert wurde.
• Klicken Sie auf „OK". Die Installation für Windows 7 ist abgeschlossen.
Diese Vorgehensweise ist nur beim ersten Anstecken bzw. der ersten Installation
des WLAN-Router-Sticks an einen Computer durchzuführen.
WLAN-Router-Stick vom Computer abstecken und wieder anstecken
Wenn der WLAN-Router-Stick vom Computer/Notebook getrennt wird und irgendwann wieder
angesteckt wird (z.B. bei einem Transport des Computers/Notebooks, so erscheint beim erneu-
ten Anschluss an den Computer wieder das Fenster mit der Software-Installation.
Klicken Sie hier „Install.exe" an und folgen Sie den Anweisungen. Die Software erkennt dabei,
dass das Programm schon am Computer installiert wurde und aktiviert dann das Produkt.
Diese Vorgehensweise ist erforderlich, da die eigentliche Software auf dem Stick vorhanden ist;
der Stick wird zuerst als normaler Wechseldatenträger erkannt, wie ein USB-Stick.
Erst nach dem Aktivieren der Software wird der WLAN-Router-Stick umgeschaltet von einem
Wechseldatenträger auf die eigentliche Funktion (WLAN).
Icon in der Menüleiste sichtbar machen
Das Icon der Software „Windy31" wird bei Windows 7 in der Menüleiste versteckt. Damit es dau-
erhaft in der Menüleiste erscheint, klicken Sie auf den kleinen Pfeil „S" unten rechts in der
Menüleiste und wählen Sie „Anpassen".
Wählen Sie dann das „Windy31 Wireless Utility" bzw. das „Windy31 Wireless Access Point
Utility" aus und stellen sie die Anzeige um von „Nur Benachrichtigungen anzeigen" auf „Symbol
und Benachrichtigungen anzeigen".
Anschließend wird das Symbol der Software dauerhaft rechts unten in der Menüleiste angezeigt.
Anschließend steht das Produkt auch unter Windows 7 mit allen Funktionen zur Verfügung.

Dear customer!
A special procedure is required for the product to function properly with the „Windows 7"
operating system.
Therefore, please proceed as follows:
• Download the program „Windy31Enabler.exe" from our website (Download centre for the
relevant product). If the file is not available as an „exe" but as a „ZIP" file, the latter has to be
unpacked using a suitable program.
• Connect the WLAN router stick to a free USB port on your computer.
• After a short time, the installation program will appear. Start „Install.exe" when the
corresponding Windows window appears.
• The window „Setup - Windy31" will appear, after installation a new icon is created on the
desktop. („Windy31 Manager").
• The software starts automatically and the „Windy31 Gateway" window is displayed.
• A short time after this, the window „This is not supported OS" appears", which indicates that
the current „Windows 7" operating system is not supported.
• Click on „OK" in this window. The window will appear a total 3 of times, click on „OK" each time.
The window might be minimized in the menu bar; open it from there and click on „OK".
Leave the program/main window „Windy31 Gateway" open and running, do not close it.
• Open the Windows file manager („Windows Explorer") and then open the directory „Programs"
on the Windows 7 installation drive.
Here you will find the directory „Windy31_Manager"; open it. Then, open the directory
„Common".
• Delete the file „Windy31Enabler.exe". If a window appears saying administrator rights are
required, click on „Continue".
• The file „Windy31Enabler.exe" in the directory „Common" will now be deleted.
• Copy the file „Wind31Enabler.exe", that you downloaded at the start, into the directory
„Common". If a window appears saying administrator rights are required, click on „Continue".
• Select the function „Site Survey" in the program „Windy31 Gateway", which is still running.
• Click on „Switch to Gateway mode" at the bottom right.
• Windows reports that the firewall has blocked some of the program's functions. You must click
on „Allow access", otherwise the software will not work.
• A message appears that the program has been installed successfully.
• Click on „OK". The installation for Windows 7 has been completed.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the WLAN router stick to the computer
When the WLAN router stick is disconnected from the computer/notebook and is connected
again later (e. g. during transport of the computer/notebook), the windows with the software
installation will appear again after reconnecting to the computer.
In this case, click on „Install.exe" and follow the instructions. The software recognises that the
program already has been installed on the computer and activates the product.
This procedure is required because the actual software is located on the stick; as with a USB
stick, the stick is initially recognised as a standard removable medium.
Only after the software has been activated will the WLAN router stick be switched from
removable media to its real function (WLAN).
Showing the icon in the menu bar
In Windows 7 the icon for the „Windy31" software is hidden in the menu bar. In order to show it
permanently in the menu bar, click on the small arrow „S" at the bottom right of the menu bar
and select „Adjust".
Then select „Windy31 Wireless Utility" or „Windy31 Wireless Access Point Utility" and change
the display from „Show only messages" to „Show symbols and messages".
After this, the software icon will be shown permanently at the bottom right.
Thereafter, the product is also available under Windows 7 with all its functions.
