Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors at the end:
• BNC connector: With this the video signal (PAL) is available. Use an adapter if you do
not have a BNC cable for this connection.
• Circular bush: At this socket the external power supply is to be connected. Make sure
that you use only a stabilised power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC
(direct current) (see chapter "Technical Data" at the end of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (in-
ner contact = plus/+, outer contact = minus/-), otherwise the camera will be
damaged; loss of warranty!
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors may
only be placed in a location that is protected from humidity (in dry interior ar-
eas). Otherwise, the connectors will corrode.
Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera in a precise manner in order to be able to monitor the
desired image section.
In darkness the IR LEDs are automatically activated. However, the LEDs are not vis-
ible to the human eye. Please bear in mind that at night coloured image reproduction
changes into black and white monochrome representation.
Zoom adjustment
The camera features a zoom lens which is manually adjustable. In order to change
the zoom settings the front part of the camera must be unfastened (rotate counter-
clockwise).
Make sure that no humidity enters the camera. Therefore, open the camera only in a
dry environment!
You can now see two adjusting levers; see image on the right.
Using lever (1) you can adjust the zoom area; with lever (2) you
can focus and sharpen the image. Do not touch the electric
components inside the housing. Do not apply force while per-
forming the adjustment; the levers can be moved smoothly.
Once you can see the image focused and sharply, close the
camera carefully.
OSD menu
As a special feature, the camera has an OSD menu with many other functions.
Observe the extensive description of all functions of the OSD in the English manual
provided by the manufacturer.
After opening the camera you will see a special button; see cir-
cle in the right image.
Make sure that no humidity enters the camera. Therefore,
open the camera only a in dry environment!
To select the OSD, press the button once. In addition to the
normal camera image, the OSD menu will be displayed.
To control the OSD menu, the button can be moved up, down,
left and right.
To select a menu or a function in the OSD, or to confi rm a set-
ting, the button is to be pressed briefl y.
When you have performed all settings, close the camera carefully again.
Cleaning
Occasionally clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front lens. Use a dry,
clean and soft cloth, moistened with water. Do not rub too much to avoid scratch
marks on the glass lens, deteriorating the image quality.
Never point the water jet of a garden hose or a high pressure cleaner at the camera; do
not use aggressive cleaning agents either.

Tips and guidelines
• Do not operate the camera outdoors without using the sun screen cover, since this
will cause overheating and damage of the camera.
• Install the camera so that it can not be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be installed using a
plastic or metal pipe.
• Depending on the mounting location, make sure you use the suitable lightning pro-
tector (e.g. installation on a pole).
• Increased cable lengths result in deterioration of the video signal. In this case, use
an appropriate amplifi er.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop and thus, the
operating voltage for the camera is no longer suffi cient. This may lead to stripes in
the image or to a signal loss. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section to
reduce the voltage drop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong to the household waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in line with the relevant statutory
regulations.
