Safety instructions for mechanical installation
• Modifi cations to the vehicle, which are made necessary due to the installation of the system,
or other components, must always be carried out in such a manner that neither the traffi c
safety nor the design stability of the motor vehicle are impaired.
• For many manufacturers, the MOT will be void if you cut out a section of the sheet metal.
• Do not install any components within the range of the fully-expanded airbag, as this could
lead to injury to the vehicle's occupants in the event of an accident.
• If you are in doubt about where to install the device, consult your car dealer.
• Before drilling, make sure that this will not lead to any damage to electric cables, brake leads,
the fuel tank or similar.
• Be sure to follow the safety instructions of the tool manufacturer when using tools to install
your system.
• When installing the system, take into consideration the risks that can arise from components
being torn away in the event of an accident. For this reason, you should secure each compo-
nent in a place where it cannot pose a risk to passengers.
Installing the camera
There is an adhesive pad on camera stand. Glue the camera to the interior of your vehicle in a
position that provides you with the desired image.
Electrical connections
Plug the auxiliary camera's power cable into the "CAM IN" socket on the motor vehicle camera
with GPS Please refer to the instructions in the manual for the main unit Order No. 840462.
Only use the extension cable supplied with the auxiliary camera to extend the cable.
• The use of the camera as a reverse driving video system makes reversing into
a parking space easier, but it does not release you from your obligation to be
vigilant. Please observe the road traffi c regulations (StV0), (German road traffi c
regulations). Use at a speed of more than 3 km/h is at your own risk and it is not
recommended. Otherwise, there is a very great danger of an accident.
A reverse driving system is intended to increase the safety and protection. It is not
intended to replace other safe driving habits. Making detailed checks and looking
around before reversing is recommended. This applies especially in the vicinity of
pedestrians or in areas with traffi c crossing the direction of reverse travel as well
as in the dark or glare. The device's operating principles may mean that some
obstacles are not detected, or are not reliably detected. The manufacturer accepts
no liability for damages incurred in such circumstances.
• Improper installation and cabling of the auxiliary camera can cause damage to the
vehicle's electrical system, including important computer and operating systems.
This could cause an accident (e.g. electric shock) or fi re, which could result in
material damage and/or serious personal injury. We recommend a qualifi ed auto-
motive electrician carries out the installation and connection.
• Contact a specialist if you have any doubts about how the system functions, about
the safety aspects or how to connect the system.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. The may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• If light falls directly on the camera, the surroundings may not be shown clearly. In
fl uorescent light, the picture may fl icker.
• The colour of the objects shown on screen may differ from the real colour of ob-
jects. In the dark, the display switches to a black and white image.
• Dirt, rain or snow can limit the function of the camera.
• Keep the unit out of the reach of children. It is not a toy.
• Please, also observe the additional safety instructions in each individual section of
these instructions.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.
This installation manual does not apply for all vehicle types. Due to the huge number
of automotive makes and models, the following installation steps serve as general
guidelines. For vehicle-specifi c questions, please consult your vehicle manufacturer
or a mechanic who specializes in your car model. Refer to the applicable motor
vehicle laws in the specifi c country to fi nd out whether installation, the installation
location and the use of this system are permitted.
