Attention!
Use installation cables rated at suitable voltages as measure-
ment and supply leads with a cross section of not more than
0.25 sq.mm max. to avoid short-circuits with adjacent soldering
eyes at the soldered connections. For the same reason also keep
the stripped (tinned) wires as short as possible.

5.3 Putting into service

Before putting into service, ensure that the unit is adequately
insulated and that air and creep distances meeting VDE 0411 or
VDE 410 and IEC-1010-1 are observed. Connect a regulated (sta-
bilised) voltage of 3 V DC to the supply input, in the process
observing the "+" and "-" polarities without fail.
Attention!
The switching cabinet, panel, case or similar must remain closed
during operation of the panel meter.
To guarantee relatively problem-free operation, avoid ...
- large temperature gradients,
- high humidity,
- strong vibrations,
- excessive ambient temperatures,
- proximity to active generators, strong magnetic (loudspeaker),
electromagnetic (motor, transformer, relay, transmitter) and
static (charge/discharge) fields ... as all the above can lead to an
unstable display or large measuring errors.

5.4 Performing measurements

Switch on the circuit to be measured and note the panel meter
display.
Attention!
1. Never exceed the maximum permissible input level of 600 V
AC rms.
2. Caution when handling with tensions over 25 VAC or 35 VDC.
Do not touch any circuits or circuit components in which vol-
tages greater than 25 V AC or 35 V DC are present or can occur.

5.5 Overload indication

When the measured voltage exceeds the maximum-permitted
input level, or when a measurement range is exceeded, "OL" for
"Overload" appears instead of a measured value.
5.6 Maintenance
Other than occasional cleaning of the display window, the panel
meter is maintenance-free. For cleaning, use a clean, lint-free,
anti-static, dry cleaning cloth.
Attention!
Do not use any carbonaceous cleaning agents or petrol, alcohol
or similar for cleaning, otherwise the surface of the panel meter
display window may be attacked. Additionally, the fumes are
explosive and endanger health. When cleaning, also use no
sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers, metal brushes or similar.
