The device is automatically synchronized to the DCF time every day.
This is sufficient to keep the time deviation to within one second per
day.
The DCF signal is sent by a transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt,
Germany). The signal range is up to 1500 km and can even reach 2000
km in ideal reception conditions. The DCF signal contains the exact
time (time deviation is theoretically within one second every one million
years!), the date and other information. This means that you do not
need to carry out the cumbersome task of adjusting the clock manually
for summer and winter time.
Manual DCF search
• To search for the DCF signal manually (e.g. if you have changed the position of the alarm
clock), press and hold the
button (1).
• The alarm clock will then start to search for a signal. Wait until the current time is displayed,
as described above.
• Press the
button to abort a manual or automatic DCF signal search.
Settings
The time/date setting process or the alarm setting process will be terminated if you do
not press a button for approx. 30 seconds. The alarm clock then reverts to the normal
display mode.
Hold down the
(5) or
(1) button to move through the numbers more quickly.
a) Time and date setting
You only need to set the time and date manually if you are using the alarm clock
outside the DCF reception area, if the desired time zone is not the German time zone or
if DCF reception is impaired due to the surroundings.
• Hold down the MODE button (3) until the time zone flashes.
• Press the
(5) or
(1) button to change the time zone. Confirm the setting with the MODE
button. The hour value flashes.
• Press the
or
button to change the hour value. Confirm the setting with the MODE button.
The minute value flashes.
• Press the
or
button to change the minute value. Confirm the setting with the MODE button.
The year value flashes.
• Press the

button to change the year value. Confirm the setting with the MODE button.
The month value flashes.
• Press the

button to change the month value. Confirm the setting with the MODE button.
The day of the week flashes.
• Press the

button to change the day of the week. Confirm the setting with the MODE
button. The display language for the day of the week flashes.
• Press the

button to change the display language. You can choose from the following
languages: English (ENG), German (GER), French (FRA), Italian (ITA), Dutch (NET), Spanish (ESP)
and Danish (DAN).
• Confirm the setting with the MODE button. The alarm clock reverts to the normal display mode.
b) Setting the alarm time
• Hold down the SET button (2) to set the time for alarm A1. The hour value for the alarm time starts
to flash. Press the
(5) or
(1) button to change the hour value. Confirm the setting with the
MODE button (3). The minute value flashes.
• Press the
or
button to change the minute value. Confirm the setting with the MODE button.
• To set the alarm time for alarm A2, hold down the SET button (4). Set the time for alarm A2 in the
same way as for alarm A1.
c) Enabling/disabling the alarm
• Press the SET (2) or SET (4) button to enable alarm A1 or A2. The

• Press the SET (2) or SET (4) button again to disable alarm A1 or A2. The

• Press the MODE button (3) to display the alarm time for A1 on the screen for approx. 5 seconds.

d) Turning off the alarm & snooze function
• The alarm goes off when the preset alarm time is reached and the bell symbol flashes. The
alarm sound can be switched off for approx. 5 minutes by briefly pressing the SNOOZE/LIGHT
button  (11). The
symbol flashes on the screen. The alarm goes off again after approx. 5
minutes (snooze function). Press any button to end the snooze function.
• To turn off the alarm completely, press any button.
• If the alarm is not switched off manually, it will turn off automatically after approx. two minutes
and will go off again the next day at the preset alarm time.
e) Turning on the backlight
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (11) to turn on the backlight for approx. 5 seconds.
f) Changing the time format
Press the
(5) button repeatedly to switch between 12- and 24-hour format. In the 12-hour format,
times before 12:00 midday are marked with "AM"; times after 12:00 midday are marked with "PM".

Maintenance and cleaning

• The product does not require any maintenance apart from changing the batteries. Never
disassemble it.
• Remove the batteries before cleaning the device. Only use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean
the product.
• Dust can be easily removed using a clean and soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
