3 Transparent cover, removable
4 Spring clips for mains voltage and consumer
5 Control dial "TIME" for adjustment of the switch time
6 Control dial "LUX" for adjustment of the brightness-switch threshold

Installation

Please pay attention to the information in the chapter "Preparations for in-
stallation"!
• Remove the transparent cover (3), by carefully pressing it at the left and right sides,
so the clips will loosen from the casing of the motion detector.
• Unscrew both screws of the strain relief (2) and remove them.
• Connect the mains cable and the cable to the consumer with the spring clips (4). The
terminal assignment is indicated for the spring clips:
L
= Phase (right side of the picture "L")
N
= Neutral wire
A
= Switch output (right side of the picture "A")
Please note the accompanying switch example.
Make sure that the cables are not jammed or
damaged.
• Fix the strain relief via the cable.
• Place the transparent cover back in place, note the correct polarity. Both cover
clips need to lock in the casing of the motion detector.
The operation of the motion detector is only allowed with a correct placed
transparent cover!
• Set both control dials "TIME" and "LUX", notice the chapter "Function and adjust-
ment of the motion detector" further down in these operating instructions,
• Bend both retaining clips together and guide them through the ceiling section. Push
the motion detector far enough in the prepared ceiling/wall section, until both retai-
ning clips well fixed.
Function and adjustment of the motion detector
The PIR-motion detector integrated motion detector responds to temperature chan-
ges within the detection range, e.g. if a person, an animal or a car enters the detection
area.
After switching on the mains voltage, it takes about 30 - 60 seconds until the PIR sen-
sor in the motion detection has adjusted to the background temperature and is able to
recognise changes in temperature within the detection area.
The detection range can be restricted by covering the plastic lens of the motion detec-
tor e.g. with a strip of non-transparent adhesive tape.
• Setting the on-time (control dial "TIME")
Using this control, you can set the duration for the on-time. Turning the control dial
counter-clockwise shortens the on-time, turning it clockwise lengthens it.
After the PIR sensor in the motion detector has detected a heat change in the de-
tection area, the switched-on time begins and the connected electrical consumer is
activated.
If another heat change is detected during the switched-on period, the switched-on
period begins again.

• Setting the brightness adjustment (control dial "LUX")
This control dial serves for setting the switch threshold, from which the ambient
brightness of the motion detector will activate.
When turning it left the motion detector will only activate with complete darkness,
turning it to the right will already activate it with a more brighter environment.
Maintenance and care
The motion detector is maintenance free, this is why you should never open it or take
it apart (aside from the jobs described in this operating instruction).
Maintenance or repairs may only be performed by qualified personnel.
Clean the diffusing panel of the motion detector occasionally from dust or sediments,
by only using a dry, clean and soft cloth.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in line with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
