After switching on the mains voltage, it takes about 60 seconds until the PIR sensor in the motion
detector has adjusted to the background temperature and is able to recognise changes in tempe-
rature within the detection area.
The detection range can be restricted by covering the diffusion panel of the motion detector with
an opaque cover. This can be tailored accordingly:

Installation

Pay attention to the information in chapter "Preparations for installation"!
The motion detector can be mounted in 4 different ways:
A
Mounting on a perpendicular wall
B
Corner mounting at a perpendicular interior building corner (with provided corner base)
C
Corner mounting on a perpendicular exterior building corner (with provided corner base)
D
Mounting under a room ceiling (PIR sensor can be turned up to 180°)
During wall or corner mounting make sure that the hemispherical PIR
sensor points downward perpendicularly, the housing of the motion
detector upward (see arrow in image to the right).
If this is not observed, protection according to IP55 is not ensured;
water can get in, which destroys the motion detector. Beyond this,
there is danger to life through an electric shock!
Proceed as follows:
• Remove the cover from the motion detector.
• Then leverage off the protective flap with a flat screwdriver.
Underneath this flap the spring clips for the connection are hidden
as well as the two holes for the wall/corner/ceiling mounting.
• Depending on the desired mounting point, the next step is to mount the corner base with suitable
screws and wall plugs. In doing so, pay attention to the arrow marking " UP"; this must point
upward perpendicularly.
When drilling mounting holes or screwing down, ensure that no existing electrical
cable, gas or water pipes will be damaged.
We recommend a mounting height of approx. 2.5 m. Depending on the desired area to be moni-
tored and the orientation of the PIR sensor, the motion detector may of course also be mounted
at a different height.
• Lead the installation cable through the rubber seals in the housing of the motion detector; do not
cut the rubber seal too wide!
• Secure the motion detector with 2 screws to the wall or to the previously installed corner base.
• Connect the mains cable and the cable to the consumer with the spring clips in the motion
detector.
L = Phase of the mains cable, brown cable
N = Neutral line of the mains cable, blue cable
L´ = Switched phase, to the consumer
The earth cable can be fixed to a separate spring clip within the housing of the motion detector.
The clip serves only the further wiring of the earth to the connected consumer (so far as this
needs the earth); the motion detector itself is built according to protection class II and does not
require an earth.
Make sure that the insulation on the wires is not stripped too far back.
Check that the screwed fixtures on the motion detector's cabling are tight enough; if
not, tighten them.
• After the connection of all cables, close the protective flap again so that it clicks into place.
• After setting the control knob for the switch-on period ("TIME"), the sensitivity ("SENS") and the
brightness control ("LUX"), replace the cover removed at the beginning.
• Switch on the power. Afterwards, it takes about 60 seconds until the PIR sensor has adjusted to
the background temperature and is able to recognise changes in temperature within the detec-
tion area.
During these 60 seconds, the connected consumer is switched on and then off after-
wards. The motion detector is now ready for operation.
Adjusting the motion detector
• Setting the on-time for connection L´ (control knob "TIME")
Using this control knob, you can set the duration time for the connection L'. Turning the control
knob counter-clockwise shortens the on-time, turning it clockwise lengthens it. Settings of 1
second (position "
"), 3 or 15 seconds, 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes are possible.
If a further motion is detected during the on-time, the time for the on-time starts again.
In the position "
", the output L' is activated for 1 second; a renewed motion detection is
possible only after the expiry of a pause time of 9 seconds. This function can be used, for ex-
ample, for switching on a staircase lighting timer.
• Setting the brightness (control knob "LUX")
This control knob allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient brightness at which
the motion detector is activated.
Turning the control knob to the left in direction of the moon symbol activates the motion detec-
tor only with great darkness, turning it to the right in direction of the sun symbol activates the
motion detector in brighter conditions. The position "TEST" is used to check the detection ran-
ge (brightness detection is deactivated; on-time of the relays in the motion detector is approx.
3 seconds).
• Setting the sensitivity (control knob "SENS")
This control knob is used to set the level of changes in temperature from which a switching
process is triggered.
On turning it to the left, the motion detector will activate even for relatively small changes in
temperature; turn it to the right, and it will only activate for greater changes in temperature. With
this function, you can also control the range of the PIR sensor (e.g. a person who walks through
the monitoring area is recognised only at a closer proximity to the PIR sensor if the sensitivity is
reduced).
Maintenance and care
The motion detector is maintenance free. For this reason, you should never open it or take it apart
(except for the procedure for installation and connection described in this manual).
Maintenance or repairs may only be performed by qualified personnel.
Clean the diffusing panel of the motion detector occasionally from dust or sediment; use only a
dry, clean and soft cloth.
Never direct a stream of water from a garden hose or even a high-pressure cleaner
onto the motion detector!
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
tions.
