Solar Stopwatch

Intended use
This stopwatch features lap count and split time functions. The stopwatch also displays time and date and
includes an alarm clock and a countdown function. It is powered by a solar module on the front panel of the
stopwatch, and by two button cells. The product has a background lighting function.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product
for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can
cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them.
Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
Persons / Product
The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing material
for children.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours
and solvents.
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any
accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:

is visibly damaged,
-
is no longer working properly,
-
has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
-
has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
(Rechargeable) batteries
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to
avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable) batteries might cause acid burns when
in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave (rechargeable) batteries lying
around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new (rechargeable)
batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery leakage and device damage.
(Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge non-
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Miscellaneous
Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a qualified
shop.

Operating elements
Multiple functions are allocated to some of the buttons; depending on the setting you are
modifying, their functions may vary.
When pressing a button, press it briefly once. With certain settings it will be necessary to hold
the button after pressing it down. It will then take approx. 2 seconds until the required function
is actioned.
You can accelerate number inputting by pressing and holding the Start/Stop button (5) when
setting numbers.

Replacing batteries
1.
Carefully remove the rubberized housing cover from the stopwatch.
2.
Remove the screws from the back of the product.
3.
Remove the battery compartment cover.
4.
Remove the button cells and insert two new type LR44 button cells, observing the correct polarity. The
positive terminal must point outwards.
5.
Close the battery compartment cover and tighten the screws again.
6.
Put the rubberized housing cover over the stopwatch.

Operation

When no buttons are pressed for 30 seconds, all settings are automatically saved.
Background lighting
Press the Light button (7) to activate the background lighting for five seconds.
Clock mode
The clock mode shows time and date.

Touch tones
In clock mode, press the Lap/Reset button (2) or the Start/Stop button (5) to turn the touch tones on or off.
When the touch tone function is activated, a note icon will appear in the display on the bottom left.
Setting date and time
1.
To set the time (c) and date, switch to the clock mode using the Mode button (5).
2.
Press and hold the Recall button (3) until the seconds digits start flashing. The weekday indicator (b) will
switch automatically to the year.
3.
Press the Start/Stop button (5) once to set the seconds digits to zero.
4.
Press the Lap/Reset button (2) to set the minutes.
5.
Press the Start/Stop button (5) repeatedly to set the minutes in single increments. Press and hold the Start/
Stop button (5) to accelerate number inputting.
6.
With the Lap/Reset button (2), switch to the hour setting and set the required hour using the Start/Stop
button (5). Proceed in a similar fashion with setting the year (b), the month (a) and the day (e).
7.
After setting the day, the display will switch to the 12/24-hour format setting. Press the Start/Stop button
(5) to toggle between both format settings.
8.
Save your settings and exit with the Mode button (4) or the Recall button (3).
Alarm mode
In alarm mode, the set time (a) is displayed in the top of the display. The lower part of the display shows the
current alarm time (b). The characters AL (d) next to the alarm time indicate that you are currently in alarm
mode.

To set the alarm (b), switch to alarm mode using the Mode button (4).

Press and hold the Recall button (3) until the hours digits start flashing. The alarm will be activated
automatically. When the alarm is activated, a bell icon (c) will appear at the left margin of the display.
3.
Press the Start/Stop button (5) repeatedly to set the hour in single increments. Press and hold the Start/
Stop button (5) to accelerate number inputting.
4.
With the Lap/Reset button (2), switch to the minutes setting and set the required minutes using the Start/
Stop button (5).
5.
Save your settings and exit with the Mode button (4) or the Recall button (3).
6.
Turn the alarm on or off by pressing the Start/Stop button while in alarm mode.
Stopwatch mode
The stopwatch mode features four functions: Stopwatch, stopwatch with lap counter, stopwatch with split
(interval) times, and countdown. The individual functions can be accessed via the Mode button (4).
Stopwatch with lap counter:
The lap counter allows counting of up to 99 laps. The fastest and the slowest lap as well as the
average lap time can be displayed. However, only the details of the first 30 lap times are saved
for later viewing.

Switch to the stopwatch mode using the Mode button (4). In the top left of the display, the word "Lap" must
be displayed.

Press the Start/Stop button (5) to start the countup (c). It will be displayed in the lower part of the display.
3.
After one lap, press the Lap/Reset button (2) while the countup (c) continues. The lap count (a) and the lap
time (b) are displayed in the upper part of the display, while the countup (c) is in progress. This procedure
can be repeated up to 99 times max. Then, the lap count will be reset to zero.
4.
The countup (c) can be paused and started again with the Start/Stop button (5).
5.
You can call up the data after the recording has been done. (See "Reading data") or press the Lap/Reset
button (2) while the countup (c) is paused to reset the stopwatch to zero.
