Connection
to the Computer
• The drivers for the multimedia player are included in the operating systems Windows ME,
XP, Vista and 2000. The supplied CD is not required!
• With Windows 98/98SE the drivers from the CD must be installed first and a restart carried
out.
• Wait until Windows is completely loaded again.
• Now connect the multimedia player via the supplied USB cable to a free USB2.0 port of your
computer.
• Windows will recognise the new hardware and install the required drivers. Wait a moment
until the installation has been completed.
• Now the multimedia player will function like a USB stick or an external USB drive. A new drive
appears in the Windows file explorer, which can be filled with multimedia files (images, MP3
files, videos).
• Wait until all file transfers are complete before disconnecting the multimedia player from the
computer.
There is a small arrow symbol ("Safely remove hardware") in the Windows menu bar. This
function serves to inform Windows on your intent to disconnect the device. All open files will
subsequently be closed; Windows will then inform you that the device may be removed.

Simply disconnecting the USB connection in running operation may result in
errors in the multimedia player's file system, e.g. data no longer appears in the
content tree or cannot be played back properly.
• If the multimedia player is connected to a computer, the buttons and the on/off switch will not
work.
The charge process is started automatically if the is not fully charged. Please refer to the
chapter "Notes on Rechargeable Batteries" and "Charging Rechargeable Batteries".
