INSTALLATION/ASSEMBLY
-
The rain gauge should be erected and operated only in dry, indoor locations. Place it on
a fl at, stable, suffi ciently large surface. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an
appropriate underlay, otherwise it may cause scratches.
The rain gauge can be attached to a nail, screw or hook on the wall through a hole (14)
on its rear.
Alternately, use the foot. Fold this down by 90° and then move it about 1 cm deep into
the rain gauge until it clicks in place.
-
The outdoor sensor is suitable for installation in outdoor areas. Select the installation
location so that rain can drip directly into the collection container.
Keep the outdoor sensor away from trees or shrubs.
Select a installation location, e.g. the roof of a carport, a garage or a suitable place in
your garden.
The outdoor sensor can be screwed via four openings at the bottom or fastened using
cable ties.
 
It is important that the outdoor sensor is mounted on a horizontal surface, since
this can cause false readings.
The range of the radio signal between the outdoor sensor and rain gauge is up
to 30 m. However, this range can be reduced by walls, metallised insulating glass
panels, proximity to metal, electric cables or equipment.
Other devices on the same frequency also have a negative impact on the range.
Temperatures below 0 °C lead to freezing of water. This can sometimes cause
damage to the outdoor sensor. Therefore, we recommend that you cover the out-
door sensor e.g. in winter.
RESET THE OUTDOOR SENSOR
If the rain gauge does not fi nd the outdoor sensor, then proceed as follows:
Step 1:
Place the outdoor sensor next to the rain gauge, press the "RE-SYNC" (12) key on the rain
gauge. Then wait at least for 6 minutes. Now the symbol "
ously, as well as the outdoor temperature.
Step 2:
If no display still appears, replace the batteries in the outdoor sensor with new ones and
start with step 1.
Step 3:
If new batteries also prove futile, remove the cover (18) by pressing on the two side snap
locks and sliding the cover up. Note the correct alignment when you do this.
Then press the "RESET" (20) key and after a few seconds, press the "RE-SYNC" (21) key.
Place the cover in the correct alignment and start again with step 1.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
The display contrast of the rain gauge decreases or the displayed symbols disappear when
activating the display light, when the batteries run low.
Replace the batteries with new ones. All settings and data will be lost.
For weak or dead batteries in the outdoor sensor, only lines are displayed instead of the
outside temperature. Then replace the batteries in the outdoor sensor and press the
„RE-SYNC" (12) key on the rain gauge so that the sensor search is started (then wait for 6
minutes without pressing a key!).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for in-
serting / replacing the batteries or for installation, etc. as described in these operating
instructions).
To clean the exterior of the rain gauge and the outdoor sensor, a dry, soft and clean cloth
is suffi cient.
Do not press too hard on the rain gauge display, this may cause scratches, malfunction or
breakage of the display.
Remove dust on the rain gauge with a long-haired, soft and clean brush and a vacuum
cleaner.
Regularly check the funnel of the rain collection container for contaminants (e.g. leaves)
and remove them.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since
these could damage (discolouring) the housing or even impair operation .

DISPOSAL
a) Product
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As end user, you are legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries / rechargeable batteries can be returned to the waste collecting points of your
council, our branches or anywhere else where batteries / rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the envi-
ronment.
RANGE
The transmission range of the radio signals between the outdoor sensor and the rain
gauge is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
 
However, this ideal arrangement (e.g. rain gauge and outdoor sensor on a plain, even
meadow without trees, houses etc.) never exists in practice.
Normally, the rain gauge is placed in the house, the outdoor sensor, for example on a
carport.
Due to the different infl uences on the wireless transmission, no specifi c range can be guar-
anteed.
" will be displayed continu-
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house. When the rain
gauge does not receive any data from the outdoor sensor (despite new batteries), reduce
the distance between outdoor sensor and rain gauge, change the installation site.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
