Intended Use
The thermo-hygrometer indicates atmospheric humidity and ambient temperature. The product
is designed exclusively for use in dry environments.
Power is supplied via 2 x 1.5V mignon batteries (type: AAA). Do not use any other source of
energy. The correct battery type is specifi ed under "Technical Data". Any use other than the one
described above is inadmissible and damages this product. Misuse may also lead to risks such
as short circuiting and fi re. The safety instructions must be observed without fail. This product
complies with the applicable national and European specifi cations.

symbols are used:
The symbol with the exclamation mark inside the triangle indicates particular haz-
ards during handling, operation or control.
This symbol denotes information provided to improve understanding of the proce-
dures.
Safety instructions
General safety instructions
The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is caused due to non-compli-
ance with these Operating Instructions. We do not assume liability for any
resulting damage.
Nor do we assume liability for property damage or physical injury caused
by improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions. In such cases
the warranty/guarantee is void.
• For reasons of safety and approval (CE), the product must not be converted
and/or modifi ed without authorisation.
• Do not expose the product to high temperatures, humidity, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical loads.
• Please consult a specialist in case of doubts about correct operation or product
safety.
• Keep the product and the batteries out of the reach of children. They are not
toys.
• Do not leave packing material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for
children.
• Observe also the safety instructions in the individual sections of these Operat-
ing Instructions.
• Power is supplied via two 1.5V mignon batteries (type: AAA).
• Never pour fl uids onto electrical devices.
Information on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Please observe the correct polarity (positive/+ and negative/-) when inserting
the batteries.
• Do not leave any batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around openly. There is
a risk of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a
doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries may cause acid burns
if allowed to come into contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, disman-
tled or thrown into fi re. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a danger of explosion! Only charge
rechargeable batteries intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• In you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period (e.g. storage), re-
move the inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries. Old batteries can leak and
damage the device. This will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• Always replace the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries. Only use
batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type/manufacturer with the same
charge state (do not combine full with semi-charged or empty batteries/re-
chargeable batteries).
• Never combine batteries and rechargeable batteries! Use either batteries or
rechargeable batteries.

• Open the battery compartment cover at the back of the product.
• Insert two new 1.5 V mignon batteries (AAA) with correct polarity into the battery compart-
ment. The correct polarity is stated in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.
• As soon as the batteries are inserted, all segments of the LC display light up briefl y. The
temperature and atmospheric humidity values are then displayed.
Functional Description
Selecting °C and °F
• Press the selector key " C / F" to toggle between
degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit.
Displaying the maximum and minimum tempera-
ture/atmospheric humidity
• Press the "MAX / MIN" button. The maximum and
minimum temperature values are shown on the LC
display.
• Press the "CLEAR" button to delete the displayed
maximum and minimum temperature values.
• Press the "MAX / MIN" button again. The maximum and minimum atmospheric humidity val-
ues are shown on the LC display.
• Press the "CLEAR" button to delete the displayed maximum and minimum atmospheric hu-
midity values.
• Press the "MAX / MIN" button again or press no button for fi ve seconds to switch to the normal
temperature and atmospheric humidity display.
Trend displays for temperature and atmospheric humidity
The temperature and/or atmospheric humidity values are constant.
The temperature and/or atmospheric humidity values are increasing.
The temperature and/or atmospheric humidity values are falling.

When the display contrast weakens, the batteries are fl at and must be replaced as
described above. We recommend that all batteries are replaced once a year in order
guarantee optimised product function.
For a longer battery life, use only alkaline types ("hand" symbol). Due to the low volt-
age and capacity, the use of a rechargeable battery improves battery life.
If the room temperature does not appear within a few seconds, the batteries must be
removed for at least 30 seconds and then refi tted. Otherwise press the reset button
on the rear.
Do not install the product in the proximity of radiators, ovens windows or entrance
doors. The display of the temperature and relative atmospheric humidity can be falsi-
fi ed at these locations.
