Installation

Please pay attention to the information in the chapter "Preparation for Installation"!
• Unbolt the screw on the bottom of the light, so the mounting plate can be detached.
• Then, align the mounting plate with the installation cable, so it can be fed through the seal into
the lamp.
When piercing the rubber gasket, make sure the hole for the cable is not too large.
Otherwise water might penetrate the housing, causing a short-circuit. if the hole is too
large after cutting, fill it with a little silicone, for example.
• Fasten the mounting plate using the mounting holes to the wall, using suitable screws and
plugs.
The lamp must only be installed on a vertical wall, the motion detector has to be
directed downwards.
When drilling the mounting holes or screwing into place, ensure that no existing
electrical cable, gas or water pipes are damaged.
• The ideal height for the motion detector is at about 2 - 2.5 m. The lower the installation height,
the lower is the range of the motion detector.

• Connect the mains cable using the terminal strip in the lamp (brown cable = L, blue cable = N,
green/yellow cable = PE/earth).
Make sure, the insulation on the wires is not stripped too far back.
Check if the screwed fixtures on the cabling for the light are tight enough, if not
tighten them.
• Locate the light on the mounting plate and fasten it into place using the screw you removed
previously. Make sure that the cables are not pinched.
Function and Adjustment of the Motion Detector
The motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detection range, e.g. if a per-
son, an animal or a car with a different temperature to the detection area enters the detection
area.
After switching on the mains voltage, it takes about 30-60 seconds until the motion detector has
adjusted to the background temperature and is able to recognise changes in temperature within
the detection area.
By turning or tilting, the alignment to the detection area can be changed.
The detection range can be restricted further by covering the plastic lens of the motion detector
e.g. with a strip of non-transparent adhesive tape.
• Setting the on-time (control dial "TIME")
Using this control, you can set the duration for the on-time. Turning the control knob clockwise
shortens the on-time, turning it anticlockwise lengthens it. The on-time is from approx.
30 seconds up to max. 7 minutes.
If the lamp has been activated and during the on-time the motion detector detects another
movement, the on-time is restarted.
• Setting the sensitivity (control knob "SENSITIVITY")
The more the control is turned to the right, the more sensitive is the reaction of the motion
detector; i.e. it responds more quickly to slight temperature changes in the detection area (or
to small objects with a different temperature).
If the sensitivity is set too high, false activations may occur; if the sensitivity is set too low, the
light will not be activated.
We recommend you to set the control, as an initial setting, approx. to the middle; later on you
may adjust it step by step until the motion sensor reacts correctly e.g. to persons in the
detection area.
• Setting the brightness control
With a sliding switch, you can choose when the light is active and when
the motion detector is to detect motion in the detection area:
A = The light is active day and night
B = The light is only active at night

Maintenance and Care

• The light does not require maintenance.
• Switch off the lamp or disconnect it from the mains before cleaning. After that, allow sufficient
time for the lamp to cool down.
• The exterior of the lamp should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Where it becomes
very dirty, use a cloth which is slightly moistened with lukewarm water.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the housing, as scratches might appear.
Never point the jet of water from a garden hose or a high pressure cleaner at the
light!
Disposal
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
