Halogen Handheld Spotlight,

Intended Use

This handheld spotlight with a solid plastic housing is designed for use outdoors (camping, hunt-
ing) or as an additional source of light when working.
The handheld spotlight is equipped with an adjustable handle, as well as an auxiliary adjustable
base. Moreover, the base has a pin hole so the handheld spotlight can be hung up convenient-
ly, e.g. on a wall.
The power is supplied for the halogen handheld spotlight (order no: 574498) by an integrated
6V/DC, 4 Ah lead acid battery and for the LED-handheld spotlight (order no.: 574506) by an inte-
grated 6V/DC, 2Ah lead acid battery.
The handheld spotlight is recharged via 12 V cigarette lighter adaptor (provided) or by using the
power supply unit.
The handheld spotlight is weatherproof and is thus suitable for outdoor use.
All the safety and operating instructions in this manual must be followed carefully. These instruc-
tions not only protect the device but, in particular, your health. Please read the entire operating
manual before using the product.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The
warranty will be void in such cases.
• The unauthorized opening, conversion and/or modification of this product is not
permitted because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The power supply unit provided may only be connected to a standard
230V~/50Hz mains socket.
• The handheld spotlight is powered by an integrated 6V lead acid battery.
Recharging must only be carried out using the power supply unit provided or the
12V vehicle adaptor provided.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Therefore,
be especially careful when children are around. Children might try to push objects
through the socket openings, for example. There is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• The handheld spotlight is weatherproof and is thus suitable for outdoor use
(please note, when used outdoors, the charging socket should be sealed with the
plug). The power supply unit provided, as well as the 12V vehicle adaptor provid-
ed, are only intended for use indoors.
• When the system components are taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g. during
transport), condensation may be formed. This could damage the product. There
is also the danger of a fatal electric shock! Therefore, you should allow the sys-
tem components to warm up to room temperature before use or connecting the
power unit to a mains socket. This may take several hours.
• Never use the handheld spotlight or the power supply unit and the 12V vehicle
adaptor covered. Always make sure there is sufficient ventilation. The handheld
spotlight's front plate heats up significantly during use. There is risk of fire.
• Please contact a qualified person if you are unsure about the safety and correct
use of the system components.
• Never leave the packaging material lie around unattended. Plastic film/bags etc.
can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, discon-
nect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• The accident prevention regulations of the association of compensation insurers
must be followed when using all electrical facilities and equipment in commercial
locations.
• Capacitors in the device may still be charged, even if the device has been dis-
connected from all power supplies.
• Compressive or tensile forces as well as falling from a low height can damage the
device.
• Never plug in, or remove, the power unit with wet hands.
• Never pull on the power cable; only unplug it at the power outlet.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the unit is not to be used
for a long time.
• Unplug the power supply before cleaning the device.

Notes on rechargeable batteries

• Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Please observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the batteries.
• Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by
children or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For
this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into a fire. There is
a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable bat-
teries which are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read
the chapter "Disposal".

• In the event of a thunderstorm, unplug the power supply for safety reasons.
• Never touch the light source with bare hands.
• Note, the front glass becomes very hot during use. There is a risk of burns!
• Do not shine the handheld spotlight directly into the eyes of humans or animals.
• Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such an event, disconnect the
appliance from the mains and take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never pour fluids out above electrical devices. You run the risk of causing a fire
or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device, immediately disconnect it from
the power supply, remove the plug from the mains and consult an expert.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified spe-
cialist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact
our technical service or another specialist.
