Before first-time use

1. Remove all packaging materials and check the product and accessories for damages.
2. Clean the kettle as described under Cleaning and care. While doing so, heed all Safety
instructions.
3. Fill the kettle with cold water and boil (see Operation). Pour away the water and repeat once
more.

Operation

1. Place the base station (5) on a heat-resistant, even working surface near an appropriate
power outlet.
2. Fill the kettle with cold water. Heed the marking MAX (1) on the kettle. Do not overfill, as doing
so may cause boiling water to spray out.
3. Close the kettle with the lid (3). Make sure that the stopper is pointed toward the handle (7).
This prevents the lid from falling out when pouring.
4. Place the kettle on the base station.
5. Connect the power plug (4) to an appropriate outlet.
6. Push down the on/off switch (6), the power indicator lights up.
7. The kettle turns off automatically when the water boils. The on/off switch (6) flips up and the
power indicator turns off.
8. Remove the kettle by the handle (7) from the base station (5).
9. When pouring make sure that the lid (3) cannot fall out.
Warning Risk of burning! Never remove the lid (3) during the boiling process and
while hot water is in the kettle.

Overheating protection

The kettle turns off automatically when it contains too little water. In this case, disconnect the plug
(5) from the outlet and wait until the kettle has cooled down. Still make sure that there is always a
sufficient amount of water in the kettle, since activating the automatic turn-off function shortens the
lifespan of your kettle.
