j) Internal Equalizer

The receiver has its own internal equalizer with pre-set sound patterns. They can be selected by pushing
the corresponding buttons „FLAT", „POP", „CLASSIC" or „ROCK" on the receiver (L) or the IR remote con-
trol (18).
Pushing the button „AMPLIFIER DISPLAY" (6) on the IR remote control will display the current
settings for the equalizer (followed by surround sound).
However, this function cannot be used during radio operation.
The following pre-programmed sound patterns are available:
• „FLAT"
This is the basic setting. There is no sound change.
• „POP"
This sound pattern is best for pop music.
• „CLASSIC"
Choose the sound pattern for classical music.
• „ROCK"
This sound pattern is best for rock music.

k) External Equalizer

To use an external equalizer (or a sound/signal processor, if connected, push the button „EQUALIZER" on
the receiver (M) or the IR remote control (3).
The display shows the message „OUTSIDE EQUALIZER". The external equalizer can only be used for chan-
ges to the sound pattern.
Pushing the button „EQUALIZER" again will activate the internal equalizer (or the 4 pre-set unchangeable
sound patterns, see chapter 13. j) again. The display shows the message „INSIDE EQUALIZER":

l) Surround-Sound

The button „SURR. SOUND" on the receiver (N) or the IR remote control (2) switches on surround sound.
The display shows „SURROUND ON".
If you push the respective button again, the surround sound will be deactivated again; the display shows
„SURROUND OFF".
